For an LA project on protest songs, I chose to do Skinny Puppy's Testure, which is against vivisection, specifically animal testure. This shows the horrible realities of animal vivisection. Fight against it!

Check out : thehaloinsider.com Great funtage by QsK Carnage and Viv, a lot of great multis. I think this is leftovers since they say they have a bigger project, a quadtage, coming up soon. Theres pretty much no editing, and classic music that im sure everyone will enjoy lol

33 facts to consider. 1) Less than 2% of human illnesses (1.16%) are ever seen in animals. Over 98% never affect animals. 2) According to the former scientific executive of Huntingdon Life Sciences, animal tests and human results agree "5%-25% of the time." 3) Among the hundreds of techniques available instead of animal experiments, cell culture toxicology methods give accuracy rates of 80-85% 4) 92% of drugs passed by animal tests immediately fail when first tried on humans because they're useless, dangerous or both. 5) The two most common illnesses in the Western world are lung cancer from smoking and heart disease. Neither can be reproduced in lab animals. 6) A 2004 survey of doctors in the UK showed that 83% wanted a independent scientific evaluation of whether animal experiments had relevance to human patients. Less than 1 in 4 (21%) had more confidence in animal tests than in non-animal methods. 7) Rats are 37% effective in identifying what causes cancer to humans -- less use than guessing. The experimenters said: "we would have been better off to have tossed a coin." 8) Rodents are the animals almost always used in cancer research. They never get carcinomas, the human form of cancer, which affects membranes (eg lung cancer). Their sarcomas affect bone and connective tissue: the two are completely different. 9) The results from animal tests are routinely altered radically by diet, light, noise, temperature, lab staff and bedding. Bedding differences caused cancer ...

This is the story of Britches, a baby monkey who was shut blind from her birth for some cruel stupid experiment. She's been rescued from ALF animal liberation front, and now she's starting a new life, being adopted by a new mother monkey. This video was produced in 1986 by PETA tv, now some volunteers of PETA have been found killing animals, but yet this movie deserves to be seen. Gives me hope.

4/22/10 Happy Earth Day, please take a moment to learn about vivisection: it affects you just as it affects the animal. suzybanyon.blogspot.com "Vivisection is the practice of cutting into or using invasive techniques on live animals. The term is derived from the Latin word vivus, which means alive." Learn More: Earthlings - video.google.com What You Can Do: The simplest action you can take everyday is to support companies that do not test on animals, each time you check out of a store it's like a vote; stores lean with customer choice when more support is given to products deveoped free of vivisection. This forces companies that do test on animals to re-evaluate their actions and in response develop more effective, non-invasive techniques in order to stay in business. You may even find that many brands you love are already cruelty free, mine is "Tarte Makeup." I must admit though that it is near impossible to avoid all cruelty free products, but the most important piece is that you are aware.. and when given the choice you choose well. www.caringconsumer.com www.vegfamily.com References (1)Tony Page, Vivisection Unveiled, p6. It is the same chemistry used by cell_man 15Ah and 20Ah pouch cells, and it's use enables a cell to be both safe from explosions or fire, as well has high performance with a long cycle life. Jeremy Paxman hosts a debate on a controversial animal research laboratory that became the focus of a campaign of terror by animal rights activists and was officially opened today at Oxford University. In this clip Michelle Thew debates Professor Tipu Aziz an Oxford Neurosurgeon. Staff moved the first groups of mice into the £18m Biomedical Sciences Building last week and will transfer the other animals over the next few months. The centre is expected to be fully operational by the middle of next year. Thousands of animals will eventually be housed in the new facility, which aims to bring the university's disparate animal research projects under one roof. The centre will provide room for mice, ferrets, monkeys and other species, such as tadpoles. Work on the building began in autumn 2003 but was abandoned less than a year later when contractors quit following intimidation from anti-vivisectionists. Construction on the building was suspended for 16 months while the university obtained an injunction against animal rights protesters to protect staff and builders and establish an exclusion zone around the facility.

Please vote against animal research in this April 2009 LA Times poll: latimesblogs.latimes.com Animal research always leads to human experimentation, but not honestly. We need to do research with actual voluntary patients who are fully informed. Animals are not our "models," thereby people are continually killed and injured in prescription drug trials -- drugs that have all been thoroughly "tested" in animals. Increasing numbers of doctors are coming over to our side. Only a few US medical schools are still using live animals for trauma training courses. The use of animals there only hindered progress into what is now the industry standard: Trauma Man -- the lifelike human model with all of our organs and systems properly represented. Undercover video of the Oregon National Primate Research Center. It is well established that animal testing is irrelevant with respect to human health. Drugs that pass animal tests routinely injure and kill humans, and results gotten by torturing animals can be obtained with animal free alternatives. Animal free methods provide more reliable data and produce results that are far safer. More info: www.vivisectioninfo.org
