Google Play: The Rolling Stones Part 3 "LA Live '75"

Get "It's Only Rock N Roll" free :goo.gl In part 3 of Google Play's interview series with The Rolling Stones, both Mick and Keith recall the ushers at this gig from the LA Forum in 1975 wearing togas, which is a fitting image given the Caligula-like decadence the band became known for during this period. The grooves, sleazy enough to begin with, become even seedier in this setting, and you can hear the band indulging themselves throughout -- "You Can't Always Get What You Want" lasts for more than 15 minutes. But the band has the swagger to pull it off, and Keith is clearly enjoying trading licks with Ronnie Wood, who joined the Stones as Mick Taylor's replacement on this tour. Plus, ace sidemen such as percussionist Ollie Brown, and saxophonist Trevor Lawrence, and the inimitable Billy Preston help hold everything together -- Preston even gets the spotlight for two tunes in the middle of the set. You can grab the title track from the album they were supporting, It's Only Rock 'n Roll, absolutely free, and purchase the complete set for just $4.99.

It was released in December 1968 by Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records in the United States. It marked a return to the band's R&B roots, generally viewed as more primal than the conspicuous psychedelia of Their Satanic Majesties Request. It also started off a string of four LPs that is usually regarded as the band's finest work.

Sympathy For The Devil, The Rolling Stones, Rock and Roll Circus, 1968

This performance is on 11th December 1968 for the film special 'Rock and Roll Circus'. The song was originally released on 6th December 1968 on the album Beggars Banquet. Apparently Mick Jagger was unhappy with the Rolling Stones' performance on the night, but I think this version is awesome-Jagger is as animated as ever! This song also has Rocki Dzidzornu on congas and Nicky Hopkins on piano. This was the last performance of Brian Jones with the Rolling Stones, incidentally playing the maracas! Marianne Faithful told the Telegraph in 2011 that Mick Jagger wrote this song after reading a Russian novel about Satan that she gave him. The name of the novel: The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Watching on are some fellow performers from the evening including John Lennon, Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton; another great song from this concert was Lennon playing Yer Blues with Clapton on lead guitar. Some folks subsequently thought that the Stones were devil worshipers and the sort after releasing this, which only goes to show how sensitive and literal in their interpretation people could be back then. I suppose some people still are. Anyway, I couldn't see this version of Sympathy for the Devil on youtube and I think it deserves to be in the public domain as it could be argued that it is a piece of rock history! I would recommend the whole DVD as it has some great performances on it! Disclaimer: "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976 <b>...</b>

Keith Richards said in 2002: "Jamaica was one of the few places that would let us all in! By that time about the only country that I was allowed to exist in was Switzerland, which was damn boring for me, at least for the first year, because I didn't like to ski... Nine countries kicked me out, thank you very much, so it was a matter of how to keep this thing together..."

Rolling Stones "Sympathy For The Devil" ~ FULL Studio Sessions ~ Beggars Banquet

Rolling Stones: "Sympathy For The Devil," Beggars Banquet Studio Sessions, Olympic Sound Studios, London, 1968. The working title of the song was "The Devil Is My Name," In the film, the group goes through several iterations of the song, from almost a bluesy, folky ballad (similar to "Jigsaw Puzzle") to the freaked-out samba it ultimately became. During the sessions the words were changed from "who killed Kennedy?" to "who killed the Kennedy's?" after the assassination of Robert Kennedy. It was Richards who came up with the song's Samba arrangement, playing both bass and lead guitar. The druggy dissolution of Brian Jones is seen unvarnished in the film, his usefulness in the studio coming to an end (he is not heard on the finished track). Marianne faithful, Anita Pallenberg, Brian Jones, Charlie Watts, producer Jimmy Miller, Bill Wyman, Keith Richards are seen recording back up vocals but the "Whoo Whoo" backing vocals were overdubbed in Los Angeles by producer Jimmy Miller, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards alone.

It's All Over Now - The Rolling Stones - Bass Cover

Bass cover played along to a backing track of the classic "It's All Over Now" recorded by The Rolling Stones in 1964. -------------------------------------------------------- Backing track available at: www.karaoke-version.com -------------------------------------------------------- The Rolling Stones are an English rock band, formed in London in April 1962 by Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica, guitar), and Keith Richards (guitar, vocals). Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early line-up. The emergence of the Rolling Stones has been credited for the greater international popularity of the primitive urban blues typified by Chess Records' artists such as Muddy Waters, who wrote "Rollin' Stone", the song from which the band drew its name. Though R&B and blues cover songs dominated the Rolling Stones' early material, their repertoire has always included rock and roll. The Rolling Stones' endurance and relevance, critic and musicologist Robert Palmer said, is due to their being "rooted in traditional verities, in rhythm-and-blues and soul music" while "more ephemeral pop fashions have come and gone". Jones led the band until Jagger and Richards assumed leadership after teaming as songwriters. In 1969 Jones' diminishing contributions to the band and his inability to tour, due to poor health and legal complications, caused him to leave the band three weeks before drowning in his swimming pool. The Rolling Stones - Anybody Seen My Baby

The Rolling Stones - Anybody Seen My Baby "Anybody Seen My Baby?" is a song by the English rock band The Rolling Stones featured on their 1997 album Bridges to Babylon. Lyrics: She confessed her love to me Then she vanished On the breeze Trying to hold on to that Was just impossible She was more than beautiful Closer to ethereal With a kind of Down to earth flavor Close my eyes It's three in the afternoon Then I realize That she's really Gone for good Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around Love has gone And made me blind I've looked but I just can't find She has gotten lost In the crowd I was flippin' magazines In that place on Mercer Street When I thought I spotted her Getting on a motor bike Looking rather lady like Didn't she just give me a wave? Salty tears It's three in the afternoon Has she disappeared Is she really gone for good Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around If I just close my eyes I reach out And touch the prize Anybody seen her around (Rap) Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around If I just close my eyes I reach out And touch the prize Anybody seen her around Lost, lost and never found I must have called her A thousand times Sometimes I think She's just in my imagination Lost in the crowd

The Rolling Stones - Rain Fall Down "Rain Fall Down" is a song from The Rolling Stones' 2005 album A Bigger Bang. It was released on 5 December 2005 as the second single from the album. Lyrics: It was a filthy block of flats Trash was on the floor A stink was in my nose Hinges off the doors She took me in her room All was spic and span Fixed me up a drink Turned down all the lamps And the rain fell down On the cold hard ground And the phone kept ringing And we made sweet love Why do we live in this strange grey town They build it up and let it all fall down Feel like we're living in a battleground Everybody's jazzed Why do we live in this strange grey town The paint is peeling and the sky turned brown The bankers are wankers, every Thursday night They just vomit on that ground And the rain fell down The cold grey town And the phone kept ringing And we made sweet love Everybody's dreaming Everybody's scheming Until the rain fall down She cooked me up some eggs Then she made some tea Kissed me on the cheek And I turned on her TV It was all the usual crap All the usual sleaze For ten thousand quid Some bimbo spilled the beans, yeah And the rain fell down On the cold grey town And the phone kept ringing And we made sweet love And the rain fell down And we made, and we made, and we made sweet love And the phone kept, the phone kept.. ringing... Yeah! Yeah And the phone kept ringing The phone kept ringing, yeah And the rain... rain... rain... rain.... rain... rain... rain...

I found this on VHS video - but it rocks none the less! Piece of Rock and Roll History. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in April 1962 by guitarist and harmonica player Brian Jones, pianist Ian Stewart, vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Jones was initially the band's leader, but after Jagger and Richards became co-songwriters of international hits for the band, they assumed control. Jones, whose contributions to recording had progressively dwindled and who was unable to tour, left the band by mutual agreement. Shortly before Jones' untimely death in 1969, Mick Taylor joined the Rolling Stones on guitar. Taylor left in 1974 and was replaced by Ronnie Wood.
