SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS, one of Australias most celebrated music festivals is set to commemorate its 10-year anniversary with its most exciting event yet. 2010 and the beautiful site of WOODFORDIA in the QLD Sunshine Coast hinterland will play host to SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS in this very special anniversary year. And this year, the birthday party will take place over three magnificent days from Friday July 30th to Sunday August 1st 2010. This year, for the first time, were proud to serve up our much-anticipated line-up on one big, fat platter. Thats more than 80 acts that will perform across our three main stages the Amphitheatre, Mix Up Tent and GW McLennan Stage. The capacity at Woodfordia is 30000, with enough room on site for 20000 campers. As a result, there will be a combined event and camping ticket available for the first time. The event/camping ticket will provide access to the campgrounds from Wednesday 28th July with the actual event site opening 4pm Thursday 29th July until 12 midday on Monday 2nd August. Please note the Amphitheatre, Mix Up and McLennan stages will be operating on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. The Woodfordia campground will be the most convenient and affordable place to stay during the event. All you need is on site in our splendid mini-city, right on your grassy doorstep. MusicFeedsTV caught up with The Vines lead man Craig Nicholls before he hit the Splendour in the Grass 2011 Amphitheatre. With their latest album Future Primitive already racking up the radio plays Craig talked about how he came to work Chris Colonna of the Bumblebeez to produce the album. He also touched on how The Vines have held their band together, since 1994, consistently making banging tracks and they've grown since their first release Highly Evolved. The big news was that The Vines have already started recording new material for album number six. No word on a release date yet. We also asked Craig about his thoughts on the current state of Australian music, of which he seemed sure that things were looking up. The Vines went on to perform a huge set, the audience were whipped into a frenzy on the dusty Amphitheatre hill when The Vines whipped out their classics.

Jameson Raid were a legendary Heavy Rock band from Birmingham, England. Formed in 1975 they predated the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, already a serious hard hitting live act before the NWOBHM bands came on the scene. They had a fearsome reputation for blowing big name bands off the stage when playing support slots. Everyone, me included, thought they would be huge one day, especially when NWOBHM fever hit in 1980. Maddeningly, bizzarely, myseriosly - they were never signed by a major label. The legacy they left behind, two EPs and a self released cassette tape, are fantastic and they have aquired cult status as one of the very best unsigned bands ever... ...but the story isn't quite finished, yet. This live version of "The Splendour Of The King" was part of Martyn Layzell's set at Clan Gathering 2007 in St Andrews, Scotland. Martyn's band featured Mark Hamilton (Doug Walker, Quench, Josh Doyle) on guitar and Tim Cooke (One Hundred Hours) on drums. Although the band had never even played together prior to the gig and much of the material was new and so had to be sight read, thankfully it all came together.

Design and development In 1926, the Air Ministry stated a requirement for a high performance light-bomber, and which culminated in the choice of the Hawker Hart over other rivals (Avro Antelope and Fairey Fox) due to it being far cheaper to maintain, a vital aspect to a programme during defence budget constraints that the British armed forces faced during the 1920s. J9052, the prototype Hart, first flew in June 1928 and entered service with No. 33 Squadron RAF in 1930. Over 900 Harts of all types were built. Vickers built 114 of the latter model at Weybridge between 1931 and June 1936. The Hart was armed with a single forward .303 cal. Vickers machine gun and one rear .303 inch Lewis light machine-gun; the Hart also had a capacity to carry 520 lb (235 kg) of bombs. The Hart had a single 525 hp (390 kW) Rolls-Royce Kestrel IB 12-cylinder V-type engine; a speed of 184 mph (296 km/h) and a range of over 400 miles (640 km).
