This video shows the full sequence of the very realistic operating railroad crossing on the Southern New England model railroad, a group from Gardner, Mass., as it makes way for a high-priority Norfolk Southern Intermodal train. The train consists of a four-unit lashup of NS diesels with Dash 8-40C 8670 on the point, and a lengthy double-stack intermodal, as it passes over the fully-detailed and fully-operating grade crossing. The double-stack train, like the layout, looks fantastic. The crossing signals, I think, are made by NJ International, and feature working gates, lights, and bells. They are also the most realistic-looking signals I've seen. This layout also includes operating track signals along the right-of-way. This modular layout is O-scale (2-rail modeling), or 1:48th scale. Recorded at the 2011 Railroad Hobby Show in Springfield, MA.

An eastbound Intermodal Train comes barreling through the Roycefield Road grade crossing in Hillsborough, NJ, on the Norfolk Southern Lehigh Line. The train consists of NS Dash-9-40CW 9606, NS SD70M 2590, and a Trailer/PiggyBack (TOFC) intermodal train of 48 cars. Excellent engineer, he gave a lot of horn on the incredible K5LA horn, very long blasts. This was my first video on YouTube of a freight train; luckily, this was a great one with an outstanding horn. Unfortunately, as of recently, the bells at this crossing were replaced by the ever-hated "electro-bell", not like they really needed to be, the bells at this crossing have always sounded great. Shame.

Recorded January 11, 2007. The Great Ocean Road is a 150 mile stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool. The road was constructed to provide work for returning soldiers and dedicated as a Memorial to those killed in the First World War. It is one of Australia's great scenic coastline drives. Much of the road hugs the coast tightly, offering outstanding views of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. Between Anglesea and Apollo Bay is a particularly scenic stretch of road which passes through many towns where mountains meet the sea. The main beach in Lorne offers great views of Louttit Bay nestled in a natural amphitheatre of hills, and Teddy's Lookout is not far from the main street. The section near Port Campbell provides access by foot or helicopter to some of the most scenic coastline in the world, because of its striking and dramatic natural limestone and sandstone rock formations. These formations have been created by erosion from waves and rain and include Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto, London Bridge (renamed to London Arch after the 'bridge' partly collapsed), and most famously the Twelve Apostles. This video begins at Torquay and continues as we drive west. Next we make stop at Bells Beach and Port Campbell. We then see some koala bears at Kenneth River.
