Then in a couple of the shots I put the slow motion clips into Twixtor, a program that adds frames to make it even slow, and I made those shots run at 1000fps, by adding frames in between the other frames. 05/15/09 INCREDIBLE **SLOW MOTION** TANK BATTERY EXPLOSION
SLOW MOTION VIDEO OF THE PREVIOUSLY POSTED TANK BATTERY FIRE. While shooting some ENG/stock footage last night of a tank battery fire near Lamesa, TX that was ignited by lightning, an explosion took place that sent a foot and half long, 4" diameter pipe valve from 200 yards away arcing directly into the front of my storm chase vehicle causing extensive damage. This is closer than you EVER want to be to an explosion! Firefighters from Lamesa and Andrews, TX fought to keep the fire down and the tanks cooled off for an hour before it finally exploded. A special thanks to the girls from Pearl London and Pure Storm. We had a few moments spare with Sophia between shots, so we thought we would test some new hi-speed equipment. If you found this film interesting, please take a good look at our other experiments here on youtube or at our website: www.photography-factory.co.uk where we also will post stills and a detailed technical breakdown, when we have a moment. In this test we were using a Vision Research Phantom HD slow motion camera shooting to a 120 gig ram stack at 1000frames per second, the lens was a 35mm Carl Zeiss Planar T* wide open. Please forgive the slight loss of focus at 1.35 the depth of field was less than 5cm, sophia (skipping in 15cm high heels) seems to have missed her mark very slightly and at the same time our focus puller seems to have been briefly distracted somehow? This is not the original version, we made. We had rights problems with the original music for the US so we have dropped in a second track in for viewers stateside. In the end this one seems, if anything, to be better version. If you are inspired by this or any or our videos and would like to get some slow motion viral photography at low cost - please get in contact we are a lot of fun to work with. At photography-factory are are very experienced in slow motion, quite reasonable, and make our livings from creative photography. Plus we need money to pay for more tests...
