This is the original of this classic joint. In some cases, the remix of a tune is sometimes better than the original, and there are lots of them on Youtube, but this is the' classic album version! Nu Shooz were formed in 1980 by guitarist and composer, John Smith, and vocalist and precussionist Valerie Day. The husband and wife duo released their first album on the Nebula Circle label in 1982. Their first release was called Can't Turn It Off. At the present time, very little is know about this first release. In 1986 the group released their second album entitled Poolside. Poolside was released on Atlantic Records. Poolside proved to be the landmark release from the group with the hit single "I Can't Wait", written by John Smith, was familiarized with its use of a human voice sample. 1986- Lyrics Below: All I want's a friend and you want mine And you've been around for a long long time. I loved him but not like now Something has changed and I don't know how. I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return. I've never been in love like this You turn me around with just one kiss. I've never seen you in this way before Now you got me wantin' more and more. I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return It's taken me a whiIe to learn - I'm at the point of no return. No turnin' back it's much too late To go back now would be a big mistake. It's taken me a while to learn I'm at the point of no return. I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return. I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return I'm at the point of no return - I'm at the point of no return.

My friends all tell me What they think that I should do So much confusion When it comes to loving you So many reasons Why we should stay apart My mind tells me one thing Should I listen to my heart Should I say yes, should I say no Wish I knew you better Should I say yes, should I say no Should I say no We may be different But there's one thing that stays the same I know I need you In a way that I can't explain So many reasons Why we should stay apart My mind tells me one thing Should I listen to my heart Should I say yes, should I say no (I wanna know) Wish I knew you better Should I say yes, should I say no You won't wait for me forever Should I say yes, should I say no Wish we were together Should I say yes, should I say no (Whoa, no) Should I say no My mind tells me one thing When I'm listening to my heart Will we be together (Will we be together) Or will we be apart, yeah Should I say yes, should I say no (Whoa, no) Wish I knew you better Should I say yes, should I say no I'm writing you a letter Should I say yes, should I say no (Whoa, baby) I wish we were together Should I say yes, should I say no You won't wait for me forever and ever and ever Forever and ever and ever and ever Forever and ever Forever and ever, forever and ever

This performance version of the Nu Shooz classic is far superior to the MTV version. Valerie Day and John Smith show off what most of us knew when they performed live and for free in San Pedro and various other venues back in the day. They are a class act and truly a couple in love. This clip is a perfect demonstration of that quality.
