Rites Of Spring - Deeper Than Inside CREDITS TO: Rites Of Spring PLyrics YouTube YouTubers LYRICS: I'm going down, going down, deeper than inside --the world is my fuse-- And once inside gonna tear till there's nothing left to find And you wonder just how close close-up can be? Can't you see? Can't you see? I had a dream all my thoughts turned to real lips --and the world is my fuse-- And just a dream, just a dream can bring me to my knees And you wonder just how tight skin deep can be? Can't you see? Can't you see? I'm going down, going down, deeper than inside --the world is my fuse-- And from inside, outside just can fall apart And you wonder just how lost inside can be? Try me. Try me.

Stravinsky - The Rite of Spring - Sacrificial Dance

Title :Igor Stravinsky ,The Rite of Spring - Sacrificial Dance From Wikipedia,The Rite of Spring, commonly referred to by its original French title, Le Sacre du Printemps (Russian: Весна священная, Vesna svjaščennaja) is a ballet with music by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, original choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky, and original set design and costumes by archaeologist and painter Nicholas Roerich, all under impressario Serge Diaghilev. The music is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest, most influential, and reproduced compositions in history. It is iconic for 20th century classical or avant garde European music, with innovative complex rhythmic structures, timbres, and use of dissonance. The scandal of a riot at its 1913 premier, caused by its innovative technique and content, made it one of the most internationally well known and controversial works in performance historyThe music for Le Sacre du Printemps is regarded as one of the pinnacles of human intellectual achievement. Composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, in his Six Talks at Harvard, said of one passage, That page is sixty years old, but its never been topped for sophisticated handling of primitive rhythms, and of the work as a whole, its also got the best dissonances anyone ever thought up, and the best asymmetries and polytonalities and polyrhythms and whatever else you care to name. The Rite of Spring is a series of episodes depicting a wild pagan spring ritual: "... the wise elders are seated ...

Rites Of Spring - Drink Deep

Rites Of Spring - Drink Deep CREDITS TO: Rites Of Spring PLyrics YouTube YouTubers LYRICS: Drink deep, it's just a taste, and it might not come this way again, I believe in moments, transparent moment, moments in grace when you've got to stake your faith (but why do I confine, when all I want is release?) It moves inside you, it stays outside you, and its not something that I could prove, or could chose, to be moved. Yes its a promise, and its a threat, and its not something that I'll let you for get, not just yet, not just yet (but why do I chase when all I want is near?) If its not the rule then its always the case, good intentions get fractured, good intentions get replaced, so close to reach but so hard to hold, the only chance you get is past your control, it's so hard, it's so hard. Drink deep, its just a taste and it might not come this way again, time to surrender, sweet surrender of all things in time, all things one place, one place. YouTube YouTubers

This is a long clip because they pretty much finished, then came out and did an encore to finish the song. The coolest part was when we all started chanting the chorus during the break. You can hear Guy tapping on his guitar that he pretty much destroyed before the encore. This is pretty much how most of the Rites Of Spring shows ended, lots of chaos.

Rites of Spring - For Want Of

Rites of Spring - For Want Of (LYRICS) ================ I- I believed- Memory might mirror no reflection on me, II believed- that in forgetting I might set myself free. But I woke up this morning with a piece of past caught in my throat- And I choked. I- I bled- I tried to hide the heart from the head. I- I bled- in the arms of a girl I'd barely met. And I woke up this morning with the present in splinters on the ground- and the i drowned. (And if I can't see its for want of...) You-You said, "I see," if there's nothing here than its probably mine- My-My turn to see- if there's nothing here it will always be mine I- I've learned the taste of days that will always burn. I- I've learned if its in the corner of my eye I can't always turn. (And if I can't see its for want of...) ================

Joffrey Ballet 1987 Rite of Spring (1 of 3)

Igor Stravinsky and Vaslav Nijinsky collaborated in 1913 on the most shocking, ground breaking music and ballet the world had ever experienced and it may still be the most striking work ever done. Nijinsky's choreography, performed only 8 times in 1913, was nearly lost forever until the Joffrey,in 1987, with great effort and commitment, reconstructed it and performed it for the first time in over 70 years. Stravinsky "Le sacre du printemps", 2005 conductor Paul Mauffray

Conductor Paul Mauffray with the Brno Philharmonic performing Igor Stravinsky's "Le sacre du printemps" in March of 2005. For this engagement, I was called on 24 hours to replace another conductor, and this was my first appearance with this orchestra. One of my favorite spots in this video is at 3:25-26 where you can see up close that one of the violins has ripped some hair loose from the bow! For those of you who are familiar with the score, I should mention that I chose to conduct two spots (2:22 & 2:37) according to the original notation as opposed to the simpler method changed in the Boosey & Hawkes edition to constant bars of 9/8. This was done on the personal advice of Claudio Abbado who said that "if you can conduct the more complicated Danse Sacrale, then why simplify these two bars which aren't that difficult as originally notated"! (This video upload on youtube still seems to have a slight problem with sychonization of sound and image.) www.paulmauffray.blogspot.com
