Ringo has announced his 13th All Starr Band, which will launch June 14, 2012 from Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario and conclude July 21, 2012 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California. New to the All Starrs are Steve Lukather (Toto) and Gregg Rolie (Santana & Journey) who will join All Starr alumni Richard Page, Todd Rundgren, Mark Rivera, and Gregg Bissonette. The tour is being produced by Dave Hart and as always fans can expect to hear a jukebox worth of hits. Ringo classic's such as "It Don't Come Easy", "Photograph", "Little Help From My Friends", "Yellow Submarine" and "Wings", from Starr's just released 17th solo record, Ringo 2012 (Hip-O/Ume). All Starr's hits include "Rosanna," "Broken Wings," "Hello It's Me," "Black Magic Woman." Ringo will spend his birthday on the road, with a performance at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on July 7. Following in the tradition of the last few years, at Noon from the Hard Rock Nashville, Ringo will ask anyone anywhere, and everyone everywhere, to join him in a wish for Peace & Love.

In recent weeks, Starr has been busy promoting "Ringo 2012," his 17th solo album. He produced it himself and recorded it in Los Angeles with a number of his buddies, including producers Don Was and Dave Stewart and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, who also happens to be his brother-in-law. Ringo Starr's first album release on the Mercury label. Credited to Ringo Starr Produced by Mark Hudson and Ringo Starr. Engineered by Geoff Emerick. The title "Vertical Man" actually came from a quotation from a book that Ringo's stepdaughter Francesca had won at school. The full quote was, Let's hear it for the vertical man, there's always so much praise for the horizontal one. Recorded at WHATINTHEWHATHE? studios, A & M studios and the Village Recorders LA And in England at The Mill, FPSHOT, Air London, Abbey Road, and Sarm Hook End Studios. Recording took place gradually from February 1997 to February 1998, and once again Ringo managed to get together some great guest performers, who are listed in the track list detail below. Although the final mixing was done on 19th February, Tom Petty had to re-record his vocal part for "Drift Away". This vocal was actually put on tape at Abbey Road on 2nd May, whilst Tom was singing in LA, with the recording sent down an ISDN line. As well as the 13 tracks issued below, four others were recorded which were planned for single B-sides : "Sometimes", "Mr. Doubleitup", "Everyday", and "Good News". Even though Ringo carries out a hectic promotion schedule, the CD fails to chart (actually reaching no.85 on it's first week of release) and sells barely over 2000 copies in the UK Mercury even pull the plug on the planned single release, which was to be "La De Da", even though the video was included on the "Chart Show" on 4th July.
