The Singularity of Ray Kurzweil

WATCH THE REST OF THE SERIES: www.vbs.tv Ray Kurzweil tells us about his vision of the Singuarlity—a point around 2045 when computers will acquire full-blown artificial intelligence and technology will infuse itself with biology. His theories have all sorts of supporters, detractors, and critics, but do you even remember what life was like before three-year-olds had cell phones and you actually had to remember facts instead of relying on the internet? That was only 10 years ago. If Kurzweil is right, we'll have supercomputers more powerful than every human brain on the planet combined within a few decades. Transcendent Man

Technology will accelerate exponentially. Within 25 years, computers will have consciousness. Humans will soon be bionic. These predictions make bestselling author Ray Kurzweil (The Singularity Is Near) a prophetic genius to some, and a "highly sophisticated crackpot" to others. There is no question, however, that he has predicted the future with more accuracy than anyone else in history.

Transcendent Man - Official Trailer HD (2011)

twitter.com www.facebook.com release date: February 3rd, 2011 TRANSCENDENT MAN chronicles the life and ideas of Ray Kurzweil, an inventor and futurist that presents his bold vision of the Singularity, a point in the near future when technology will be changing so rapidly, that we will have to enhance ourselves with artificial intelligence to keep up. Ray predicts this will be the dawning of a new civilization in which we will no longer be dependent on our physical bodies, we will be trillions of times more intelligent and there will be no clear distinction between human and machine, real reality and virtual reality. Human aging and illness will be reversed; world hunger and poverty will be solved and we will ultimately cure death.

Ray Kurzweil about new words, software, and empathy

I caught up with Ray Kurzweil at the iLabs Singularity Summit in Milan, Italy on March 5. In this video he talks about his dissatisfaction with the terms transhumanism, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, about the importance of understanding how reliable our software systems have become, and the empathy that we are starting to prove towards systems displaying even rudimentary levels of general intelligence, like IBM Watson. He ends with a quip about his long bet with Mitch Kapor about the turing test.

Ray Kurzweil on the Future of Nanotechnology

Ray Kurzweil - Futurist

See more videos about Jewish Identity at leadel.net Everything is exponential to Ray Kurzweil. Ray has studied technology trends for a long time. An avid futurist, and as some say a transhumanist, he wants to understand what technological advances the future is going to bring. Want to know what the technology of the future will look like? Ray can imagine it. Not without his share of critics, he believes we will have enough solar energy to meet our needs in 16 years and a complete understanding of how the human brain works in the next 20 years. "Evolution is a spiritual process," he says, bringing us closer to "the ideal of God." A production of http a project of The European Jewish Congress (www.eurojewcong.org) and made possible thanks to its President Moshe Kantor.
