June 2006 Since the end of apartheid, thousands of white South Africans have been forced into poverty. They blame the government's positive discrimination policies, which favour black employees. Twelve years ago, Afrikaners like Betsie Dreyer lived a privileged and cocooned life. Now, many are dependent on charity handouts. "We are fighting all the time to survive." The government is determined to see the workforce appropriately reflect the population. It gives black people priority in employment, sets 'black quotas' for businesses and favours companies owned by black people. But critics accuse the government of neglecting its responsibility to white citizens. As union rep Kallie Kriel states: "It's ironic that a government that fought racial laws is now doing exactly the same thing." Produced by ABC Australia Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

POOR AMERICA With one and a half million (1.5 million) American children now homeless, reporter Hilary Andersson meets the school pupils who go hungry in the richest country on Earth. From those living in the storm drains under Las Vegas to the tent cities now springing up around the United States, P anorama finds out how the poor are surviving in America and asks whatever happened to the supposed 'government' and the Real People in charge - those who you 'don't see' pulling on the strings; and their vision and welfare for the country. Could this be a form of 'Social cleansing' without the need of war or disease inflicted by the orchestrators - simply a controlled bout of poverty? Or is this the forced education that only condition children to know only a certain amount of knowledge that can only ever see them progress in working environments such as confined offices within the 'Human Zoo' qualities within the desperately overcrowded cities. Why are our children not educated properly - to be able to survive communally with real craft and building skills? Is the social mobility (as in other 'rich countries' such as the UK) only fairing the rich; the wealthy and the 'clever elite'; the white collar criminal, as per usual? I'm going there to see my father I'm going there no more to roam; I'm just a going over Jordan I'm just a going over home. I know dark clouds will gather round me I know my way is rough and steep; Yet beauteous fields lie just before me Where God's redeemed, no more shall weep I'm going there to see my mother She said she'd meet me when I come; I'm just a going over Jordan I'm just a going over home. UNSAFE, NOT FOR KIDS! Main article: bit.ly amasci.com Can't get liquid nitrogen? Then make your own -80C/110F version by using Dry Ice. Despite what you hear from the media and the Democrat party, the poor are getting richer. In fact, America's poor are so rich, we should be celebrating it. Bill Whittle has the facts to back it up. And for more information, check out the excellent research from the Heritage Foundation: www.heritage.org

Poverty doesn't exist because the poor are lazy. Especially in a developing (third world) country like Bangladesh, the poor are some of the hardest working people on the planet. But hard work doesn't necessarily mean you can break the cycle of poverty - what's why we need to help. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet this really inspiring 15 year old. He supports his mother on about $2 a day by running a recycling business in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He trades used bottles for vegetables and then sells the bottles at a profit. As inspiring as this is - $2 a day isn't enough to break the cycle of poverty. It's barely enough to avoid falling back into extreme poverty. And, even though I am here in Bangladesh, I am still unsure what I can do to make a lasting difference in the lives of the poorest of the poor. Advice and inspiration from the YouTube community is definitely welcome. Thanks for subscribing - those who subscribed up until now, watch until the end for a shoutout. The BBC examines the decaying economic conditions in the United States and the effect it has had on American citizens. The US media is not reporting on issues like this, rather they focus on things like dead rock stars or who won the American Idol competition. In their view, "if it doesn't get reported, it doesn't exist." Politicians point fingers at each other as the cause of the faltering and dying economy and even blame the millions of homeless, unemployed, and hungry as the culprits, while hack groups like the Heritage Foundation don't see any problems at all. To them poverty is a myth.

A clinic in the US state of Maine is using a novel way to support those who cannot afford costly health insurance. Low-income people earn time credits from the Hours Exchange Portland website, mostly by working a variety of odd jobs like raking leaves or driving the elderly, and exchange them for time with a doctor. ABOUT Freddie McGregor: Freddie McGregor (born 27 June 1956, Clarendon, Jamaica) has been variously a singer, musician and producer. According to Allmusic he is one of reggae's most durable and soulful singers, with an incredibly steady career that started all the way back in the 1960s, when he was just seven years old. In 1963 he joined with Ernest Wilson and Peter Austin to form The Clarendonians, and began to record for the Studio One label. McGregor worked with producer Niney The Observer during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1975, McGregor converted to Rastafari, which had a profound impact on his music.[1] He is a member of the Twelve Tribes organization. His popularity soared in the early 1980s with the release of "Bobby Babylon". Other popular hits of McGregor's include "Big Ship", "Push Comes To Shove", "Just Don't Want To Be Lonely" and "I Was Born A Winner"; as well as cover versions of many early reggae standards. He has also worked with producers Junjo Lawes, Linval Thompson, and Gussie Clarke. McGregor has also toured extensively for many years. In 1984, he inaugurated his own Big Ship label, secured a licensing agreement with RAS Records in US and released Come On Over in 1987. After slowing his pace in the late 1990s, McGregor returned in 2000 with the acclaimed Signature, which restored his typical balance of roots reggae and lovers rock with touches of dancehall. He followed it two years later with a similarly well-received album, the Grammy ...
