Good evening and welcome to my small tutorial. Tonight ill be showing you the basics of Network Grep (ngrep). Ngrep is an awesome tool used to analyse and filter network traffic at the network level. Behind good ol' Kate you will see 3 terminals, one displays ngrep's command syntax, outputted by using the command: ngrep -h The second is the one ill be working in showing you the commands and the third (small one) is the one im gonna set off the ftp connection with. Ill first of all show you how install ngrep in Back|Track4 and its the same as installing it in any other Debian Linux derivative :) Then i'll show you the basic commands and some filtering. I'll then do some proof of concept and show capturing an FTP password from a login to another BT4 machine on my network - 10.50.60.104. Ooh forgot to mention, there's even a M$ version! d3m0n35

It is possible to quickly kill a connection to an ip address or port. First install the dsniff package. Now in order to kill a connection to an ip address type sudo tcpkill -i wlan0 host 74.125.224.178 Where "wlan0" is the interface you want to use and 74.125.224.178 is the ip address you want to block.
