A party of archaeologists discover the remnants of a mutant 5000 year old Sumerian civilization living beneath a glacier atop a mountain in Mesopotamia. This movie coming from 1956 is another of Universal-International's science-fiction pleasures. They made about twenty of them in the 1950s, brought on by the enormous successes of "It Came From Outer Space" (1953) and "Creature From the Black Lagoon" (1954). An interesting prologue with a real professor on the Earth's interior cores is followed by a great title sequence accompanied by a superb score. John Agar leads an archaeological expedition in Himalayan mountains to search for an underground lost civilization. Eventually they find them, an albino tribe, who have trained the half-human "Mole People" to be their slaves. Agar falls in love with the lone pigmented character, lovely blonde Cynthia Patrick, who invokes a bit of Kim Novak. Sacrifices ...

NOT A FAMILY-FRIENDLY VIDEO. :( Motovlogging Revamped: My Take on It-- Less is more, right? I'm testing out a different video editing program. It has even less bells and whistles than Windows Movie Maker (way less), but it never freezes or crashes, has much better audio (controls and quality), and exports in a higher quality format. So, what do you think? I'm also simplifying the editing process. No cuts in this vlog. It's all raw, beginning to end. I don't normally swear, but the snow was freakin' me out a little. Thankfully, I wasn't going far. I was going across town to borrow the car from my mom. You can't adjust zoom or focus while recording with my camera, hence the abrupt shut off at the end so I can "recalibrate." Since I can't see the screen while riding, I had no idea it was just fine. Oh well. It was a good place to stop. Ha! Get it?? My camera is yet another thing I would love to replace... *sigh* I am trying to be content with what I have and simplify. Hopefully, it'll still be entertaining for you, even without bells and whistles. I was sure having fun. I hope that comes through. (A faster computer and better setup would sure be nice to play with, though!) I hope you like my pun! There will be more, equally bad puns in the second half. Link to Part 2: www.youtube.com

This FOX television series flopped after a single season (2000-2001). The premise: a twenty-something (Derek Barnes played by Ethan Embry) takes over his presumed deceased, twin brother's web site to explore the paranormal and possibly discover the truth about his brother's death. The series was intelligent and funny, but most importantly, innovative. This web site paralleled the television series. (If Derek uploads a diary entry or a video shot with his camcorder on the episode, it shows up on the web site). This is one of the clips downloaded from the original site.

A scientific and cultural look at the Mole People of New York City, from "The Social Rituals of America Series".

www.HaphazardStuff.com The first chapter in a new series looking at the Superhero Film Genre. First up is 'Superman and The Mole Men' from 1951. George Reeves makes his debut appearance as the Man of Steel in the characters first full-length theatrical feature film. I'm not claiming this series will be an 'All Conclusive' look at every superhero film. I'm sure there will be some I'll miss, some I'll decide to skip and some I just never heard of before. I might veer away and focus on a few films that could be argued do not qualify as a 'Superhero Film' and touch on television productions, but hey it's my series so I make up the rules. I'm going to attempt to keep this as chronological as possible. I might be making a mistake at even trying to start this idea. I'm hoping this will be a somewhat consistent series, one that I can consistently return to. However, things come up and time can become a factor at how much I can spend on these projects. We'll just see how it goes.

I was on the NYC subway system's E train last night when we made a sudden stop. Conductor caught and convinced a 'mole person' (someone who makes the subway tunnels their home) to get on the train and wait for the police to show up. Although the conductor radioed in for police to meet us at Penn Station to grab the guy, dispatch seemed pretty clueless and the guy ended up running off as the doors opened. Totally weird.
