Off the split, OH HOLY FOOLS: SON AMBULANCE & BRIGHT EYES released on January 23rd, 2001 by Saddle Creek Records. This song is also available on a rare imported EP by BRIGHT EYES entitled DON'T BE AFRAID OF TURNING THE PAGE released on December 3rd, 2001 through the same label. This particular album was re-released in a vinyl box set by Saddle Creek on September 9th, 2003 & is currently out-of-print. Conor Oberst - Acoustic Guitar/Vocals Mike Mogis - Pedal Steel There's a voice on the phone Telling what had happened Some kind of confusion More like a disaster And it wondered how you were left unaffected But you had no knowledge All the chemicals covered you And so a jury was formed As more liquor was poured Theirs no need for conviction Cus' they're not thirsting for justice But still I slept with the lies I keep inside my head I found out I was guilty Yeah I found out I was guilty But I won't be around for the sentencing Because I'm leaving Oh On the next airplane And though I know that my actions are impossible to justify They seem adequate now to fill up my time But if I could talk to myself like I was someone else Well then maybe I could take his advice And I wouldn't act like such an asshole all the time Well there's a film on the wall It makes the people look small Who are seated beside it All consumed in the drama They must return to their lives Once the villain has died They will drive to the office Stopping somewhere for coffee Where all the folk singers, poets ...

Original Music by Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott of Bright Eyes. Lonely in life and love, Robert Malone (Martin Landau, 9, Ed Wood) braves precarious wintry snow on the walk from his job at the grocery store to his home only to discover a stranger (Ellen Burstyn, Requiem for a Dream, ) in his house. What begins as an awkward encounter quickly blossoms into what appears to be a new chance for romance and the elderly couple's love affair takes us on a heartfelt and wonderful journey that reveals an unexpected twist.

18 October 2009. Los Angeles, California. M.Ward, Conor Oberst, Jim James, & Mike Mogis performing my FAVORITE song off of the album. It was a great night, & one of the best shows I have ever been to. Before I bought tickets to this show, I had a dream about this show & this particular song being performed at the show. Apparently I was going apeshit for this song & it made me so incredibly happy. In person i wasn't as apeshit as I was in my dream, but the concert overall was still amazing. Probably one of the best I've ever been to.

London-based Alessi Laurent-Marke performs her tender and charming folk-pop under the moniker Alessi?s Ark. Her music is innocent and quaint, but also vulnerable and intimate ? qualities similar to artists like Laura Marling and Mumford Sons, two acts that she?s shared the stage with many times. Though she?s only 21, she?s already recorded her debut album with producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley), released a handful of EPs on major label Virgin Records, and crafted a sophisticated, impassioned sound that seems well beyond her years. Time Travel, the sophomore album from Alessi?s Ark, is available via Bella Union. Singer/Songwriter Caleb Lane performs "Lime Tree" written by Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. Follow Caleb Lane on Twitter @ twitter.com Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst. It consists of Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene.[1] Bright Eyes is signed to Saddle Creek Records, a Nebraska-based label founded by Conor Oberst's brother Justin Oberst and Bright Eyes member Mike Mogis, and distributed by Sony Corporation. In 2004, the singles "Lua" and "Take It Easy (Love Nothing)" took the top two spots of Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Sales chart within two weeks of their simultaneous release. Bright Eyes released the Four Winds EP in March 2007, featuring the first single from their seventh studio album Cassadaga, released in April 2007. The track "Endless Entertainment" circulated over the internet from the new official site, ThisIsBrightEyes.com. In a 2007 issue, Rolling Stone labeled "Four Winds" as a top 100 song of the year. In support of this album, Bright Eyes toured North America from February to May, and Europe and Japan from June to July.[17] The twelve musicians included two drummers, and they donned white uniforms in front of a video backdrop.[18] During an encore on May 19, 2007 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, Oberst performed a new song with ...

This is our new song "The Lion's Roar" from our new album with the same title, to be released in January 2012 on Wichita Recordings. Produced by Mike Mogis. Follow us: www.thisisfirstaidkit.com http www.twitter.com www.myspace.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now the pale morning sings of forgotten things She plays a tune for those who wish to overlook The fact that they've been blindly deceived By those who preach and pray and teach But she falls short and the night explodes in laughter But don't you come here and say I didn't warn you About the way your world can alter And oh how you try to command it all still Every single time it all shifts one way or the other And I'm a goddamn coward, but then again so are you And the lion's roar, the lion's roar Has me evading and hollering for you And I never really knew what to do Well I guess sometimes I wish you were a little more predictable That I could read you just like a book For now I can only guess what's coming next By examining your timid smile And the ways of the old, old winds blowing you back 'round And I'm a goddamn fool, but then again so are you And the lion's roar, the lion's roar Has me seeking out and searching for you And I never really knew what to do Sometimes I wish I could find my Rosemary Hill I'd sit there and look at the deserted lakes and I'd sing And every once in a while I'd sing a song for you That would rise above the mountains and the stars ...
