After much request we've dedicated an episode to Metasploit. Room362.com's very own Rob Fuller, aka Mubix, joins us in studio to show us the basics of exploiting and the power of auxiliary modules.

Raphael Mudge of FastAndEasyHacking.com joins Rob Fuller, aka Mubix, to talk about his project Armitage; a cross-platform GUI front-end for Rapid7's Metasploit. Mudge demonstrate setting up the software, scanning for targets, attacking hosts with client side attacks or remote exploits, and finally pivoting throughout the network using pass-the-hash techniques. Time to grab some paper, pencil and an unsuspecting virtual machine!

Video made by TechnicDynamic, click and subscribe to his channel! bit.ly Description: Today we are gonna be encoding backdoors using metasploit framework on Backtrack 5! This was originally suggested by purpl3ro0t from YouTube, so whenever you have any suggestions, drop me a line and they might just end up here. First we take a look at crafting a simple payload into a backdoor, and when loading it into a sandbox (Windows XP) the anti-virus doesn't even allow the file to be downloaded. Well, that's not any good is it? Who's gonna open the file if there are flags all over it? So we have to make this file undetectable, at least to the client's anti-virus which is Avast. Recently I found a public script in Pastebin (original link) and after looking at it for a few minutes, I thought the file was really legit. Especially after seeing all the encoding going on at line 43... so I modified it for my own use — big ups to Astrobaby, don't know who you are or where you're from but keep it up! Run metasploit framework console, use the exploit/multi/handler method, and set the payload to windows/meterpreter/reverse_https. It is also a good idea to use the 'launch_and_migrate.rb' script, so we can migrate to a new process as soon as we get a chance. We encoded that backdoor like 1000 times so it can't be that stable. Now with an undetectable backdoor we just get creative and find a way to send it to the victim. DOWNLOAD Scripts vanish.sg, launch_and_migrate.rb: bit.ly READ Original <b>...</b>

Metasploit module to calculate the password for the hard-coded hidden username "factory" in the RuggedCom Rugged Operating System (ROS). The password is dynamically generated based on the devices MAC address.

This module exploits a stack buffer overflow in MSCOMCTL.OCX. It uses a malicious RTF to embed the specially crafted MSComctlLib.ListViewCtrl.2 Control as exploited in the wild on April 2012. This module targets Office 2007 and Office 2010 targets. The DEP/ASLR bypass on Office 2010 is done with the Ikazuchi ROP chain proposed by Abysssec. This chain uses "msgr3en.dll", which will load after office got load, so the malicious file must be loaded through "File / Open" to achieve exploitation. In this tutorial we will create a trojan for a windows machine and make it connect to us. Keep in mind that your antivirus will likely pick this trojan up once it is on your windows machine. Find away to allow it through. (this time only since you're the creator of it and you know its safe) In the future we will write our trojans to dodge anti-virus detection and make them more sophisticated like an attacker actually would

This video shows some of the new features in Armitage for Metasploit 4.2. The latest Armitage is a solid performer and works great for managing Metasploit in high latency situations. In this video, you'll see ten Armitage clients connected to a remote server managing post-exploitation against a remote network. At the end of this video, you'll see Armitage readily managing a database with 5000 hosts through this setup. You can learn more about Armitage at www.fastandeasyhacking.com

Today we will be automating persistent backdoors on our target using metasploit framework. Lot's of fun! :D In an earlier video, we have seen how to craft an undetectable backdoor using the metasploit framework tools. Today, we are going to automate the process of sending such a backdoor to our victim(s) so that our handler works much like a RAT (remote administration tool) and accepts reverse https connections simulteaniously. Speakers: Marcus J. Carey Enterprise Security Community Manager, Rapid7 | David Rude AKA bannedit, @msfbannedit, Metasploit Exploit Developer | Will Vandevanter Senior Penetration Tester, Rapid7 This talk is for security practitioners who are responsible for and need to test enterprise network security solutions. Marcus Carey, David Rude, and Will Vandevanter discuss how to use the Metasploit Framework beyond penetration testing to validate whether security solutions are working as expected. Marcus initiated the creation vSploit auxiliary modules that emulate real-world network attacks. This can be used for good and evil purpose. This talk will debut several Metasploit modules designed specifically for testing firewalls, IDS, IPS, and DLP solutions. This presentation will show how to emulate persistent network attacks with vSploit modules which can come in handy if you are a penetration tester. Pivoting is a Meterpreter method that allows for the attack of other systems on a network through the Meterpreter console. I apologize if the commands are hard to view. You may download the video @ vimeo.com or view the commands in my blog post below. Thanks. security4information.blogspot.com

This video uses Armitage and Metasploit to demonstrate, multi/browser/java_rhino, a new cross-platform Java exploit. This exploit uses a loophole in the Java API to execute a payload outside of Java's security sandbox without requiring a user to approve some action. This works in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari on Windows, MacOS X, and presumably Linux. Java 1.6.0u27, Java 1.7.0, and older versions are vulnerable.

This module takes advantage of the -d flag to set php.ini directives to achieve code execution. From the advisory: "if there is NO unescaped '=' in the query string, the string is split on '+' (encoded space) characters, urldecoded, passed to a function that escapes shell metacharacters (the "encoded in a system-defined manner" from the RFC) and then passes them to the CGI binary." Note : This vulnerability was potentially exploited in the wild for at least 8 years !
