Happy 70th birthday john !! As soon as you're born they make you feel small By giving you no time instead of it all Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be They hurt you at home and they hit you at school They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years Then they expect you to pick a career When you can't really function you're so full of fear A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV And you think you're so clever and class less and free But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be There's room at the top they are telling you still But first you must learn how to smile as you kill If you want to be like the folks on the hill A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be If you want to be a hero well just follow me If you want to be a hero well just follow me

When I wake up in the morning with the sun above my head I pull the blinds down slowly The room seems almost dead And I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again Yes, I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again I get up quickly, like a flash of light I put my clothes on, neat and right I work all day, I work at night When do I find out what I'm doing right? And I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again Yes, I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again The time has come when I need to change I don't know what to do I'm really restless My nerves are breaking The lying feeling's coming through And I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again Yes, I'm lonely, and I'm on my own again

"Give Peace a Chance" is a 1969 single by (John Lennon's) Plastic Ono Band that became an anthem of the American anti-war movement at that time. A different song with the same name, written by Leon Russell and Bonny Bramlett, was sung by Joe Cocker. Writing and recording The song was written during Lennon's Bed-In honeymoon: when asked by a reporter what he was trying to achieve by staying in bed, Lennon answered spontaneously "All we are saying is give peace a chance"; Lennon liked the phrase and set it to music for the song.[citation needed]. He sang the song several times during the Bed-In, and finally, on 1 June 1969, in Room 1742 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, recorded it using a simple setup of four microphones and a four-track tape recorder rented from a local recording studio.[1] The recording session was attended by dozens of journalists and various celebrities, including Timothy Leary, Rabbi Abraham Feinberg, Joseph Schwartz, Allan Rock, Rosemary Woodruff Leary, Petula Clark, Dick Gregory, Allen Ginsberg, Murray the K, Al Capp and Derek Taylor, many of whom are mentioned in the lyrics. Lennon played acoustic guitar and was joined by Tommy Smothers of the Smothers Brothers, also on acoustic guitar. The song was credited to Lennon/McCartney (John Lennon and Paul McCartney) and published by Northern Songs (now Sony/ATV Music Publishing). On some later releases of the song, only Lennon is credited; viz. the 1990s reissue of the 1972 album Live in New York ...

John Lennon spins his own "I Call Your Name" and shares the origin of the blue-beat middle eight. "For those people who like to know where licks and things come from, which I do because I'm always nicking little things myself..." He introduces ELO's "Showdown" calling it, "a beautiful combination of 'Heard it Through the Grapevine' by Marvin Gay, and 'Lightning Strikes' by Lou Christie... With a little 'Walrus' underneath." Spins tales of carousing with Harry Nilsson in LA while on a break from Yoko, and collaborating with Harry Nilsson while on a break from Phil Spector. Lennon is in the WNEW-FM studios with May Pang and DJ and interviewer Dennis Elsas, in New York City on September 28, 1974. Part 2 of 4 If he were alive today, John Lennon would probably have a channel on SiriusXM. Enjoy the time machine. Subscribe, leave a comment or a "thumbs up." Blog: www.thanksforvaping.com

i don't believe in beatles i just believe in me.......I think this is Lennon's most powerful song. I can't think of any other guy who spoke so openly in my life. what he is stating is he believes in himself and his love, and really..what more do you need. John wrote this song for his second son Sean in 1980.. Possibly wrote with most of Double Fantasy & Milk and Honey in his 2 month holiday in Bermuda in June 1980 The line, "Every day and in every way I am getting better and better" is a self-improvement mantra. It was popularized by a French psychologist named Emile Coue, who made his patients repeat it over and over. (thanks, Edward Pearce - Ashford, Kent, England) Notice the tribute in the song to Paul McCartney in the lyrics, "Every day, in every way, it's getting better and better." This is from The Beatles' song "Getting Better

ps22chorus.blogspot.com Thoroughly proud to present the video premiere from the PS22 Chorus of 2011, putting a new spin on the John Lennon classic, "Imagine." I don't think any of my choruses in all the years previous has put forth a more solid debut in such a short amount of time! Harmonies are tight, the feeling is there, and this group is ready to rawwwwk!! This was filmed today at only the 2nd rehearsal with the full group. Azaria delights with her unique instrument and pitch-perfect delivery on the solo, and Mr. Eberle adds that extra magic touch guesting on the acoustic guitar. So it's safe to say, 2011's IN DA HOUSE -- and it's bound to be quite a year! And as always, love and thanks to Ms. Lisa for capturing this performance (and countless others!) on video......
