The song was written by frontman Adam Levine for their debut album Songs About Jane (2002). The song's lyrics are based on Adam Levine's break-up with a former girlfriend. The name "Yiruma" translates into accomplishment in Korean. Yiruma's piano music is expressive and introspective. Although he is only 32 years old, Yiruma is internationally known for creating colorful music that uplift spirits. He frequently performs at sold-out concerts in Asia, Europe and North America.
