Before people come and nail me as a Blazer homer. I do not blame the refs on the outcome of the game (even though Camby got his 4th foul and had to come out... and it all went downhill from there). Blazers let it go and did not execute and ended up getting blown out by their own play. There are times to sit back and watch how bad the refs can be in the NBA (no matter what team you cheer for). And while Stern hates when people discuss them, there is a reason why sometimes. This might be one of the worst fouls called ever. My Twitter: www.twitter.com Small Desc: Foul is called on Brandon Roy, then changed to Marcus Camby... then Crawford says Camby fouled Nash... Nash shoots free throws... watch the video and you'll see why this could possibly be one of the worst calls ever. Also this went down as "Nash draws the foul on Camby" on espn and nba's website. Lots of different views on this one, but one things for sure something went incredibly wrong. You be the judge. *Update 4/29/10 - There seems to be some confusion, let me clarify that this foul was called as Camby fouling Nash. Here is a link to ESPN play by play 3rd period, scroll down to the 5:20 mark and you will see "Marcus Camby personal foul (Steve Nash draws the foul)" goo.gl . *Note to viewers who are commenting, this video is not about NBA being rigged or if this was a game changer or not (thank god it didn't have that big of an effect). Do not manipulate my words to make it seem like I'm saying the Blazers only ...

Referees Eddie Rush and Joey Crawford call 3 technical fouls on the Celtics for basically doing nothing. Rush called 2 on Perkins which lead to his ejection and possible suspension for Game 6. The video shows that he didn't do anything at all to earn the 1st one, and didn't react toward any ref beyond stomping away for the 2nd one. Joey Crawford called a tech on Rajon Rondo for calmly asking another ref about a questionable call. Crawford has already been suspended for calling unfair techs on Tim Duncan and even challenging Duncan to a fight, unprovoked, on the basketball court. Both refs deserve to be removed from the rest of the playoffs, and Crawford should be banned for life. Their calls are reminiscent of some accusations fallen ref Tim Donaghy made about how some refs have it in for some players.

The NBA has a new technical foul rule, basically you are to show limited emotion after calls whether you agree or disagree. In this clip, from Joey Crawford's point of view Barnes ran toward him...how that is disrespectful, I personally have no idea.

The NBA and its Refs Association couldn't come up with an agreement in time, so at least for now, they'll be using replacement officials for the start of the upcoming season. This can't be good for the NBA because now players will really start running off at the mouth about the inefficiency of officials in the NBA, but a lot of people I see are perhaps happy because fans are unhappy with the current refs. I'm not one for conspiracy theories but Joey Crawford and Tim Donaghy are making a lot of people's cases for them. i own none of the images in this video

NBA announcers have apparently misstated this rule ever since it was implemented, There is no definite rule that you can not catch and shoot with 0.3 seconds or less on the clock; no requirement that you can only tip in the ball with 0.3 seconds left in the game. According to the Joey Crawford and the NBA referees at the NBA game between the Kings and Magic on 1/12/10, the referees are not supposed to presume that the clock expires just because a player catches and shoots with 0.3 seconds or less. Rather, if the shot is released from the hand prior to the red backboard light going on, the shot is good regardless of whether the play started with 0.3 seconds or less. At least that is the interpretation of the NBA of the rule. The text of the rule is found below: EXPIRATION OF TIME Posted Jan 31 2001 12:00AM Print RSS Feeds E-News Sign Up Share on Facebook Celebrate the Tradition NO LESS THAN :00.3 must expire on the game clock when a ball is thrown inbounds and then hit instantly out-of-bounds. If less than :00.3 expires in such a sit-uation, the timer will be instructed to deduct AT LEAST :00.3 from the game clock. If, in the judgment of the official, the play took longer than :00.3, he will instruct the timer to deduct more time. If less than :00.3 remain on the game clock when this sit-uation occurs, the period is over. NO LESS THAN :00.3 must expire on the game clock when a player secures possession of an inbounds pass and then attempts a field goal. If less than :00.3 ...
