How to make a 100 ft glow stick. Brighter than Electroluminescent wire and self-powered. This can be used to decorate, glow stuff up, or create all kinds of awesome effects. Warning: TCPO is carcinogenic and you should wear gloves and masks while working with it. The procedure is simple, mix together 500mg of 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene and 17g of TCPO in 500mL of diethyl phthalate solvent and heat it up until it dissolves. Then top it up to about 2.1 liters and add 120mL of hydrogen peroxide and 10g of sodium acetate. Shake thoroughly and draw into a 100 ft glow stick with an inner diameter of 3/8". Suction by a vacuum pump is recommended. To prevent spilling the ends should be capped with brass or plastic compression fittings. Leave 5+ feet of space in the tube to allow for expansion of the chemicals depending on temperature. Glow stick will last for about 6 hours. Use more TCPO if a longer glow is needed. Possibly the world's biggest glow stick.

hey everyone, name is orion. ive been glowsticking for awhile now and ive finally decided to make a small video so that people can see what else there is to freehand other than the figure 8, stomach trace, and the occasional toss =/ so here are 6 basic technical moves that i think every freehander should know... 1- helicopter 2- butterfly 3- inward helicopter 4- parallel helicopter 5- butterfly antispin - horizontal and vertical 6- antispin - horizontal and vertical i did discovered most of these moves on my own, however i may not have been the first to discover moves such as the helicopter or antispin i found them on my own without copying someone else =] so enjoy!!! oh and i am working on creating a longer, more thorough video of freehanding moves (technical, tracing, and tossing glowsticks) . so keep on the look out for future videos :)

One glowstick is drawing the outline of an ?8? while the other glowstick follows in its path. One way of doing this is using your arms (download video 1). This video demonstrates how to draw an 8 using mainly arm movements (as opposed to wrist movements ? see video 2): *Note: This describes a right-handed figure 8. To perform a left-handed figure 8, reverse the motions. 1. Hold the sticks in your hands as if you are holding the handles of a jump rope, but with your hands out in front rather than to the sides. Have the ends of the sticks pointing upward. 2. Using your right hand, move the glowsticking down to the left side. As you are doing this, move your left hand to where your right hand was originally. At this point, your arms should be crossed with your right arm at a lower position. 3. To continue, move your right hand to your right side at the same level. Bring your left hand down to where your right was. What you should notice is that your left hand is just following in the path of your right. Keep in mind both hands are moving at the same time. 4. Now, bring your right hand up to your left side in a diagonal line. You?re left hand should replace your right hand?s previous position. 5. Finally, bring your right hand across to your right side. Glowstringing Tutorial www.glowsticking.com This is a tutorial designed for people who wanted to start glowstringing but has never done it before. The tutorial starts by answering some of the most common questions such as how to tie the strings and how to hold them, then moving on to teach the Weave, Windmill, and Butterfly. All you need is a pair of shoelaces and a pair of 6 inch glowsticks (either used or unused) then you can start here. Some people like their shoelaces round and thin, some like theirs flat and thick. It doesn't matter as long as you are comfortable with them. Try different kinds and experiment until you find a kind that suits you.

I haven't been glowsticking as much as i used too, but again glowsticking is something fun I can always look foward too. There is a difference between this and my 2 year, although it may seem like the difference isnt much. But I think the music choice should help my style of glowsticking =D. In this method, you are still creating an outline of an ?8? but the in a much smaller fashion. This variation will depend on the dexterity of your wrists. Because the shape of the figure 8 is smaller, more intense trails can be created with less movement and speed. The effect is a much more fluid figure 8, given that it is done correctly. 1. You can hold the glowsticks in the same fashion as done in video #1, but in order to maximize the smooth effect of the trails, hold the glowsticks like you are gripping a pencil. However, instead of holding the stick in the middle, grasp the end of the glowstick (see video). Additionally, apply a relatively loose grip on the glowsticks. This will allow the glowstick room to move during the execution to create a more fluid image. 2. Join both hands at the inside of wrist. You should have the palms of your hands facing each other, forming a ?v? in front of you. 3. The idea here will be the same as the standard (arm movement) figure 8. However, you will only be moving your wrists. Begin by moving your right hand glowstick down to the left side and moving your left glowstick to where your right one was. To perform these movements, think of ?rolling your wrists? on each other (see video). 4. Next, bring your right hand glowstick back to the right side. Tracing - Stomach Trace Tutorial, by Windsen Pan By definition, tracing is outlining parts of the body (arms, head, legs, etc.) with glowsticks. This is the most expressive and visually appealing aspect of glowsticking. Traces can be done all over the body, in both symmetrical and asymmetrical forms. This type of trace is localized around the abdominal (stomach) region. The trace involves moving the glowsticks so that you create the illusion of a circle on your stomach. The circle can be going either clockwise or counter clockwise (first person view). The video shows the path of the glowsticks in both directions, but for this tutorial, I will describe the counter clockwise direction. The basic outline is to create a square with the glowsticks. To begin, you should learn the orientation of the sticks in relation to each other during this move. Remember that essentially, the sticks should be parallel to each other at all times. However, once you learn the motions, you can make your movements more fluid and the sticks will not be entirely parallel to one another. 1. Hold the sticks at the end as shown in the video. Begin by creating 2 opposite sides of the ?square.? In the video, I start with the top and bottom. Your right hand glowstick (bottom side) is point to the left and your left hand glowstick (top side) is pointing to your right. 2.
