When making this video, I wrote down what I truly felt the animals in shelters feel when they're abandoned, dropped off, wanted no more. How confused they must be, knowing that a few months ago, they were the best things in your life, being so small and cute. Just a little, innocent puppy that you HAD to just buy. I tuned all his giutars standard (440 hz), always with GHS 11's (custom gauge with a heavier big E string), and his guitar always went straight into a Super Reverb and a Music Man 2 x 12"... Later, a Twin Reverb was used instead of the Music Man amp. This was before he got the Category 5 signature amps. The 70's silverface Super Reverb was his main amp, and my favorite tone (vol anywhere from 4 - 9 depending on the venue, treb 7 - 9, mid 6 - 8, bass 3 - 4, reverb 2 - 4)... The settings vary from gig to gig. The other amps were always added just for a little extra power and low end, again depending on the size of the stage and show. I've seen him use just the Super at "Stevie Rays" in Louisville, KY, and at the end of the night the volume was almost on 4. It was a smaller club, but he had the same sound still. Rolling Stones-Gimme Shelter at Altamont
The Altamont Speedway Free Festival was an infamous rock concert held on Saturday, December 6, 1969, at the Altamont Speedway in northern California, between Tracy and Livermore. Headlined and organized by The Rolling Stones, it also featured, in order of appearance: Santana, Jefferson Airplane, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Crosby, Stills & Nash, with the Rolling Stones taking the stage as the final act. The Grateful Dead were also scheduled to perform, but declined to play shortly before their scheduled appearance due to the increasing violence at the venue. That's the way things went at Altamont so badly that the Grateful Dead, prime organizers and movers of the festival, didn't even get to play. Approximately 300000 people attended the concert, and some anticipated that it would be a "Woodstock West." The event is best known for having been marred by considerable violence, including one homicide and three accidental deaths: two caused by a hit-and-run car accident and one by drowning in an irrigation canal. Four births were reported during the event as well.Lead singer Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones (who had already been punched by a concertgoer within seconds of emerging from his helicopter)was visibly intimidated by the unruly situation, urging everyone to "Just be cool down in the front there, don't push around."
