George Harrison - While my guitar gently weeps antology

George Harrison originally performed the song with a solo acoustic guitar and an organ; a demo version, longer than the officially released version, can be heard on the Anthology 3 album and in reworked form on the Love album. Eric Clapton, who was a good friend of George, played lead guitar on the album version of the song with a Gibson Les Paul guitar. On The Concert for Bangladesh, he performed it on a Gibson Super 400 hollowbody guitar, and later acknowledged that a solid-body guitar would have been more appropriate. liryc: I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love I don't know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you. I look at the world and I notice it's turning While my guitar gently weeps With every mistake we must surely be learning Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know how you were diverted You were perverted too I don't know how you were inverted No one alerted you. I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps Look at you all... Still my guitar gently weeps.

George Harrison Got My Mind Set On You (2009 Stereo Remaster)

Join the official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook! www.facebook.com A cover version by former Beatle George Harrison from his album Cloud Nine reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1988. Produced by Harrison and former ELO member Jeff Lynne, the song was his third and last solo US number one, after "My Sweet Lord" in 1970 and "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" in 1973. It was also the last number one single, to date, by any of the solo Beatles in the United States. As Harrison's third post-Beatles #1 hit in the US, he broke a three-way tie among himself, John Lennon and Ringo Starr as ex-Beatles with two #1 solo singles, and moved Harrison into second place behind Paul McCartney's nine #1 songs. Of Harrison's three number one singles in the US, it was the only song not written by Harrison and the only one without religious overtones. The single's B-side is "Lay His Head", written by Harrison. The 12" version of the single also adds an extended version of "Got My Mind Set On You". Two music videos were released for the cover version. The first (directed by Gary Weis) starred a young Alexis Denisof vying for the heart of a girl in an arcade.[1] The second (also directed by Weis), is Harrison sitting and playing in a study. As the song progresses, furniture and knick-knacks (like a stuffed squirrel and mounted warthog) begin to dance along with the song. In the middle of the video, Harrison's stunt double performs a stunning backflip from his chair and follows ...

George Harrison - While My Guitar Gently Weeps ( The Concert For Bangladesh )

The Concert For Bangladesh was the name for two benefit concerts organised by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, held at noon and at 19:00 on 1 August, 1971, playing to a total of 40000 people at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The concert was organised to fund relief efforts for refugees from East Pakistan following the 1970 Bhola cyclone and alleged atrocities during Bangladesh Liberation War. The event was the first ever benefit concert of such a magnitude. It featured a supergroup of performers that included Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Badfinger, and Ringo Starr. An album was released later in 1971 and a concert film was released in 1972, with later releases for home video. In 2005, the film was re-issued on DVD accompanied by a new documentary. The concert raised US$243418.51 for Bangladesh relief, which was administered by UNICEF. Sales of the album and DVD continue to benefit the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF. Ain't she sweet-McCartney&Harrison on ukulele+Ringo(1994)

Paul and George perform Milton Ager and Jack Yellen 1927 song Ain't she sweet. George plays ukulele. From Beatles Anthology DVD. "Ain't She Sweet" is a song composed by Milton Ager and Jack Yellen in 1927. It became popular in the first half of the twentieth century, one of the smash hit songs that typified the Roaring Twenties. Like "Happy Days Are Here Again" (1929), it became a Tin Pan Alley standard. Both Ager and Yellen were elected to membership in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Lyrics "Oh ain't she sweet, well see her walking down that street. Yes I ask you very confidentially: ain't she sweet? Oh ain't she nice, well look her over once or twice. Yes I ask you very confidentially: ain't she nice? Just cast an eye in her direction. Oh me oh my, ain't that perfection? Oh I repeat, well don't you think that's kind of neat? Yes I ask you very confidentially: ain't she sweet?". Milton Ager wrote "Ain't She Sweet" for his daughter Shana Ager, who later grew up and became Shana Alexander, who was on television and on radio as a political commentator.

Of Harrison's three number one singles in the US, it was the only song not written by Harrison and the only one without religious overtones. Not only was this the last US number one hit by Harrison, but of any from the other Ex-Beatles in the US. It was kept off the #1 spot by T'Pau's "China in Your Hand". George Harrison - Isn't It A Pity (Alternate Take) [HiQ]

"Isn't It a Pity" is a song by George Harrison from his 1970 solo album All Things Must Pass. It was written during the sessions recording The Beatles' White Album but was rejected for that album. It was released as the B-side of "My Sweet Lord" in the United States on November 23, 1970. Two different versions of the song were included on All Things Must Pass. Version One is longer, at 7:10, while Version Two, though at a slower tempo, takes 4:47. It has a folksy melody that is similar to another song on the album, "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)", and resembles several of Bob Dylan's ballads from the period. The lyrics are consistent with the karmic subject matter of much of the All Things Must Pass album.[1] Version One from All Things Must Pass was included on the compilation album Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison. A demo version, recorded during The Beatles 'Get Back'/'Let It Be' sessions in January 1969, is also available on Let It Roll as an iTunes Store exclusive. A live version of the song was included on the album Live In Japan. Both "Isn't It a Pity" and "My Sweet Lord" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with only "Isn't It a Pity" being listed at number one in Canada on the RPM 100 national Top Singles chart. In 2010, AOL radio listeners chose "Isn't It a Pity" as one of the 10 Best George Harrison Songs, appearing at #7 on the list.

George Harrison Tribute In My Life

George Harrison was born February 24, 1943. He was a good student up until he heard Elvis Presley and was influenced into rock and roll. He became a teddy* and dropped out of High School. He joined Lennon's band "The Quarrymen" in 1958 and it was known as "The Beatles" in 1960. He experimented with Preludin, Marijuana, LSD, and Hashish. (He was later found with Hashish possession along with his, at the time, wife Pattie Boyd. They divorced in 1974, no children were conceived in this marraige. He later married Olivia Arias in 1978, had a child on August 1, 1978 named Dhani Harrison (his only child) and continued his work as a musician. He lived at Friar Park and his hobby was gardening. He was attacked in 1999 by an insane fan. He stabbed George in the chest which caused his lung to collapse. He began to fight throat cancer and won. Later he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died peacefully due to his religious practices and daily meditation. He was ready to go. And his legacy lives on. * A Teddy is a rebel during the 50's that wore leather jackets and leather pants.
