Andrew shows you a super handy trick for getting draw strings back into your clothes. No more frustration! Andrew MacLaine's Designs: www.erynz.com Facebook: www.facebook.com www.quixana.com Hey everyone, this is Andrew MacLaine, and welcome to Sew What. Really really simple sewing techniques that don't involve a machine. Now I'm going to tell you a little secret. I stole this from the owner of Erynz while she wasn't looking. This is her sweatshirt, but the drawstring has come out of the hood. So I'm going to fix it for her; it'll be a nice surprise for her birthday which is today actually. So I'm going to take just a safety pin, really simple. Secure that thread, push that needle through the string, and pull on it to make sure it doesn't come apart. Really really easy, put the safety pin through the opening, and then just scrunch your fingers and pull. This technique can be used with a drawstring, it can be used with an elastic cord, it can be used with a shoelace. Anytime that you need to put something through a little tube of fabric, or what I call a casing, you can use this technique. It's really really easy. Not the quickest, but then again those who wait are rewarded by fabulousness! As I say right now all the time. I don't say that all the time actually, it's just something that I'm using to kill time until I'm done. So once you get to the end you are going to pull the safety pin through. Make sure you tie a knot at the end just to make sure that it doesn't fall ...
