The R5800 is my latest and greatest solar creation. Made from an ordinary fiberglass satellite dish, it is covered in about 5800 3/8" (~1cm) mirror tiles. When properly aligned, it can generate a spot the size of a dime with an intensity of 5000 times normal daylight. This intensity of light is more than enough to melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant. It stands at 5'9" and is 42" across. Here's how I built my extremely powerful blue laser as seen in my popular video "Blue Laser Burning Stuff!". I got a lot of questions about that video so I decided to make a video overview explaining the parts I used and how they are put together, followed by a bunch of clips of it burning stuff. Power is probably a little over a watt, AKA 1000mW. I got most of these parts at www.modwerx.com . You have to find a broken computer somewhere for the power supply if you go for this build though. ALWAYS wear goggles when working with lasers over 5mW! Permanent eye damage is very easy to get with strong lasers, but is also easy to avoid if you take the right precautions.

Mirrors through a Fresnel Lens Super Beam. This answers the question, "can you get a super powered beam by concentrating several mirrors to one point through a Fresnel Lens. The same results would be expected from a parabolic mirror. The further away from the lens, the closer the beams are concentrated together because the angle changes.
