How to paint a snowboard. I used light grit sandpaper to scuff off the factory coating and give the board some tooth for the primer. I used a Dupli sealer primer and sanded in between each coat; 3 coats. I sprayed the board with a thinned down gesso and sanded between coats; 3 coats. Then had a blast painting this board with acrylic paint using brushes, airbrush, a mountain bike tire, and other techniques. The board is coated with a 2 part resin base automotive clear coat. Very durable, weather resistant and high gloss. The board was coated 6 times and I wet sanded with 1000, 1500, 2000 grit between coats and then finished up with a buffing comopound and then polish.
