Backdoor Channels Opening Sequence

Behind the scenes of the greatest diplomatic achievement of the 20th century. Fisher Klingenstein Films Presents "Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace," a documentary about the interplay between the official government channels and the men who acted largely behind the scenes of the peace process between Egypt and Israel. Tracing the confluence of factors that led to the Camp David Accords and ensuing peace treaty of 1979, the film examines not only the powerful personalities—Carter, Begin, Sadat—that drove the peace process, but also the secret liaisons, communications, and third-party world leaders who played important yet seldom understood roles in forging the peace agreement that has become the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East. Directed by multi-Emmy award winning director Harry Hunkele, and Emmy-award-winning Executive producers Arick Wierson, Matthew Tollin, and Donald Tanselle. "Safe Now" Film Short Canon 7D 1080p HD

"Safe Now" was film was conceived, written, and shot in only TWO hours for the MMTB meeting on March 6, 2010. Special thanks to Kip Baldwin, Rick Camp, and Elaine Brovont. David Minard also did a great job with the production and post production audio. Due to the short two hour time limit, there was no rehearsal, no planning, and usually only time for one take. Plus we only had a very limited crew and three actors who were selected at random for the event. This is not an oscar award winning film, but instead a fun exercise to see what could be done within the two hour time frame provided -- raw creativity, improvisation, and loads of fun. Please try to use your imagination and enjoy! Shot with Canon 7D. Enjoy this short film.

The Arab Conspiracy aka The Next Man Sean Connery clip 1

zeroheadroom.com presents another Drive By Theater 2-clips-from-one-movie-a-go-go! Clip 1 is this mid seventies oddity made during Sean Connery's wilderness period between career making James Bond and triumphant return The Untouchables. This guy does not do method. he may play an Arab but the accent stays in the same Scottish brogue! PLOT: Khalil (Connery) is an Arab diplomat who wants to not only make peace with Israel, but admit the Jewish state as a member of OPEC. This instantly makes him a target for a series of ingeniously conceived assassination attempts, most of which he foils with the aid of his friend Hamid and his girlfriend Nicole. But can he trust even them? WTF? It is a decent and effective, if not surprising picture, and Connery himself does a solid job as an Arab leader seeking to end the strife with Israel, against substantial political opposition. At the time, the whole idea of it seemed preposterously far in the future, but in reality, the Camp David Accords were less than 4 years away. If this film was made today there would be much to discuss about the story but in 1976 this slipped through the radar and is classed as a B-Movie (admittedly a solid B+). Ripe for discovery watch this clip and see how politically current this is in terms of the the Middle East today. It was fully conceived, filmed, and released "before" Anwar Sadat and the Camp David Accords, and, in its own way, echoes the events in its own future. BACK DOOR CHANNELS: The Price of Peace

Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace is the true story of the men who brought lasting Peace to the Middle East. For the first time ever, the filmmakers take the audience behind the public veil obscured by a first of its kind White House issued media blackout on the events. Behind the press conferences and into the smoke-filled backroom corridors of power during one of the world's greatest historical moments - the 1979 Camp David Peace Accord and Treaty between Egypt and Israel. For one brief moment in time, Arab and Jew put their differences aside and embraced peace. Menachem Begin, Anwar El-Sadat, and Jimmy Carter - were the strategic geniuses that crafted the peace, but it was the men behind-the-scenes, some driven by deeply held faith and conviction, others merely by raw ambition, who found a way to get them together and drive the peace process. It is a tale of secret missions, internal power struggles and diplomatic brinkmanship by a cast of characters never before revealed - until now. Shot on location in Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Austria, France, and the US, Channel Productions crisscrosses the globe in search of the true story behind one of the most difficult diplomatic achievements of the 20th Century. Channel Production Films is an independent production company, founded by the Emmy award-winning team that built NYC-TV in New York, leading it to a record 160 Emmy® nominations and 42 Emmy® awards in six years. Jimmy Carter - Gerald Ford Debate Day 2 Part 4: Israel and Iran (1976)

October 6, 1976 - Watch the full debate: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com Jimmy Carter: www.amazon.com Gerald Ford: www.amazon.com In 1981, Carter returned to Georgia to his peanut farm, which he had placed into a blind trust during his presidency to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. He found that the trustees had mismanaged the trust, leaving him over one million dollars in debt. In the years that followed, he has led an active life, establishing The Carter Center, building his presidential library, teaching at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and writing numerous books. When he first left office, Carter's presidency was viewed by some as a failure. In historical rankings of US presidents, the Carter presidency has ranged from #19 to #34. Although Carter's presidency received mixed reviews from some historians, his all-around peace keeping and humanitarian efforts since he left office have led him to be widely renowned as one of the most successful ex-presidents in US history. Although Carter has also received mixed reviews in both television and film documentaries, such as the Man from Plains (2007), the 2009 Documentary, Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace, credits Carter's efforts at Camp David, which brought peace between Israel and Egypt, with bringing the only meaningful peace to the Middle East. The film opened the 2009 Monte-Carlo Television Festival in an invitation-only royal screening on June 7, 2009 at the Grimaldi Forum in the presence ...

Nazi Concentration Camp Documentary Film Footage Part 4 (1945)

Watch the full film: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com The Holocaust (from the Greek ὁλόκαυστος holókaustos: hólos, "whole" and kaustós, "burnt"), also known as The Shoah (Hebrew: השואה, HaShoah, "calamity"; Yiddish: חורבן, Churben or Hurban, from the Hebrew for "destruction"), was the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, a programme of systematic state-sponsored extermination by Nazi Germany. The genocide of these six million people was a genocide of two-thirds of the population of nine million Jews who had resided in Europe before the Holocaust. Some scholars maintain that the definition of the Holocaust should also include the Nazis' systematic murder of millions of people in other groups, including Romani, people with disabilities, Soviet prisoners of war, Polish and Soviet civilians, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses and other political and religious opponents. By this definition, the total number of Holocaust victims would be between 11 million and 17 million people. The persecution and genocide were carried out in stages. Legislation to remove the Jews from civil society was enacted years before the outbreak of World War II. Concentration camps were established in which inmates were used as slave labor until they died of exhaustion or disease. Where the Third Reich conquered new territory in eastern Europe, specialized units called Einsatzgruppen murdered Jews and political opponents in mass shootings. Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and The Revolt of Islam

www.farewellisrael.com - New Political Documentary The confrontation between Islam and the Jews began in the Prophet Muhammads time and continues to this day. Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and The Revolt of Islam is an historic journey, from the birth of Islam, through its 1200 year reign over the civilized world, to the last 300 years of Islamic decline, overtaken and dominated by the West — then humiliated by a Jewish state. Islams historic trials with Jews, and its relationship with conquered non-believers, help illustrate the Islamic world view -- all through the eyes of Muslims. In this groundbreaking film, the total rejection of Israel by Muslim states since its inception in 1948 comes to light as a religious duty for Believers. The Islamic roots of Anwar Sadats 1977 Camp David Accords with Israel are exposed as "The Diplomatic Strategy Against Israel," by which Egypt sought to defeat Israel through diplomacy, rather than establish "Western Peace". Israels misunderstanding of Islamic goals and values are highlighted by its enthusiasm for Yasser Arafat and the 1993 Oslo Accords. Next, President George Bushs tragic misunderstanding of 9/11 as a "War Against Freedom," in which the United States played into the hands of Al-Qaeda and the Islamist cause by advocating democratic reform across the Middle East, is revealed. Finally, the Iranian strategic agenda for acquiring weapons of mass destruction to eliminate Israel comes clearly into focus. Today, at the direction of ...

Assassination of Anwar El Sadat

Anwar El Sadat was born on 25 December 1918 and graduated from the Royal Military Academy in Cairo in 1938 and entered the army as a 2nd lieutenant. There, he met Gamal Abdel Nasser, and along with several other junior officers they formed the secret Free Officers Movement. Along with his fellow Free Officers, Sadat participated in a military coup which overthrew King Farouk I. In 1964 he was chosen to be vice president by President Nasser. He served in that capacity until 1966, and again from 1969 to 1970. After Nasser's death in 1970, Sadat succeeded him as President, but it was widely considered that his presidency would be short-lived. On 6 October 1973, in conjunction Syria, Sadat launched the October War, known in Israel as the Yom Kippur War. On 19 November 1977, Sadat became the first Arab leader to officially visit Israel and spoke before the Knesset in Jerusalem about his views on how to achieve a comprehensive peace to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty was signed by Anwar Sadat and Israelli Prime Minster Menachem Begin in Washington, DC, United States, on 26 March 1979, following the Camp David Accords (1978). Both Sadat and Begin were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for creating the treaty. The agreement notably made Egypt the first Arab country to officially recognize Israel. The peace agreement between Egypt and Israel has remained in effect since the treaty was signed. The treaty, which gained wide support among Egyptians was ...

Using extensive testimony of refugees from Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, and Morocco the film recounts the stories - of joy and suffering - that nearly one million individuals have carried with them for so long. The film weaves personal stories with dramatic archival footage of rescue missions, historic images of exodus and resettlement, and analyses by contemporary scholars to tell the story of how and why the Jewish population in the Middle East and North Africa declined from one million in 1945 to several thousand today.

Lady grinning soul ( David Bowie cover by Tally Brown )

TALLY BROWN was a bohemian artist and underground star living in New York. She starred in some ANDY WARHOL films and was a student friend of LEONARD BERNSTEIN. Her beautiful interpretation of "Lady grinning soul" by DAVID BOWIE from his album ALLADIN SANE is taken from the soundtrack of the wonderful portrait documentary film TALLY BRWON NEW YORK by german director ROSA VON PRAUNHEIM. I love the way Tally is singing and that she is singing in first person singular instead of third person singular as the original lyrics go. The video footage is taken from two silent films: The first one is SALOME from 1923, the one and only camp silent film, as far as I know. It starred ALLA NAZIMOVA as Salome (not seen in this youtube-clip). Gossip said, that the whole male cast and crew of that film was gay. The costumes and extravaganza of that silent film is unique. If you have a chance to see it, don't miss this film! In my youtube-clip I have picked the blue tinted scenes with Mitchell Lewis as Herod. Second source is PICCADILLY from 1929. In my youtube-clip I used the red tinted scenes of ANNA MAY WONG doing a night club dance. I think, that Miss Wong's brilliant dancing can be described as playing the Luftpiano in the beginning, similar to LUFTGUITAR - playing ;-)
