Baseball Rules One of my first times out to an American baseball game was at the invitation of some friends to go out and watch the Brewers at Miller Stadium in Milwaukee. For an American the game brings them back to their childhood when they could get together with friends and family, hit the ball, and run the bases. It seemed like there was fanfare to rival any national holiday. Which is an oddity for some...but for Americans...this is their pastime...and every game is a chance to see these sometimes larger than life athletes hit farther and reach higher. Every sport has its pinnacle but none as coveted as baseball's World Series. A best of seven series that's played between the American League and National League. This is the annual culmination of 162 regular season games for Major League Baseball to be crowned "World Champions" From an outsider looking in Baseball appeared simple enough -- a pitcher throws the ball at the home plate, the other teams batters attempts to hit the ball and run around the field." But 3 strikes puts the batter out. 3 outs and the teams switch. Us Europeans generally prefer simple sports with easy rules and as few breaks as possible. You know, like cricket?! Well, I guess that only the English like cricket, and we're not "really" Europeans. On the edge of their seats, baseball fans cheer, sing, chant and have pitch after pitch to quench their thirst... a near <b>...</b>

Man beats McDonald's manager with baseball bat for not being served - Surveillance Vid with 911 Call
Lakeland, Florida -- Police are searching for a Black man who angrily attacked a manager at a Lakeland McDonald's. Police say on Sunday night, the suspect entered the restaurant on 715 E. Memorial Boulevard to order food. Apparently the suspect waited for some time and was not served. When a manager asked him if he had been waited on, the suspect reportedly became angry and said he had not and that the exact same thing happened to him the previous day. The suspect demanded the corporate phone number, which was provided by the manager. The suspect then threw down the paper and stormed out of the restaurant. Police say about 20 minutes later, the suspect returned with a baseball bat, jumped the counter and began hitting the manager with the bat. The suspect yelled, "All I wanted was some [expletive] food!" and then left the store. The manager suffered significantly bruised ribs and was taken to the hospital. Lakeland Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact police at 863-834-6900. www.wtsp.com
