A turn of serendipitous events led me to make this discovery and I felt it important to share with the world. This is not the sort of video I usually make and I suggested it to other film makers but no one took up the challenge so...here we are. The video clips are taken from a documentary called "Bahai's in My Backyard" put together by some novice investigative jouranlists over a 3 year period of fact gathering. Dr. Cornel West is a philosopher and Princeton professor of African American Studies and Religion and a staunch defender of rights and freedoms for all people. He learned about the Baha'i Faith through his race unity work, befriending Baha'is such as jazz maestro Dizzy Gillespie. Baha'i-Muslim Debate Invitation
This is an invitation to any and all Baha'is to have a debate with me about Islam and the Baha'i Faith. I suggest that each series of points and rebuttals be made into videos and uploaded to YouTube. We can then tag each other's videos so that people know they are part of the same discussion. To avoid confusion on my part, I can debate only one Baha'i at a time. I suggest the first topic be something "easy" as a sort of warm-up. But I eventually want to tackle the subject of Islamophobia within the Baha'i community, which has gone widely unnoticed among Baha'is themselves and the world at large. We hear a lot about Muslim persecution of Baha'is, but we are not told that many Baha'is have many prejudices of Islam and Muslims. In the spirit of fairness, I think both "camps of misinformation" should be explored, and to search for any truth in both sides' claims.
