FOX 5: RAW - Autobot Bumblebee Hits DC Police SUV at Transformers Filming in DC
WASHINGTON - A DC Police SUV was involved in a wreck at the filming of Transformers 3 in Washington DC While the movie was filming a car chase scene on 3rd Street and Maryland Ave in southwest DC, the police SUV collides with a yellow Chevy Camaro, which in the movie series is known as the character Bumblebee. The police SUV was not supposed to be there and the wreck itself was not scripted. The police officer driving the SUV is a veteran bomb technician. He was taken to a local hospital and sustained minor injuries. Sources tell FOX 5 that he was running to a call to 9th and F Street and was apparently using a different radio channel than the police officers who were securing the perimeter for the movie. Statement from the Metropolitan Police Department: "Earlier today, a MPD marked cruiser responding to an emergency assignment, collided with a vehicle involved in the filming of a movie at Third Street and Maryland Avenue, SW. The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No civilian injuries have been reported. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the facts of the crash and filming of this movie on closed DC city streets has been suspended until safety procedures can be reviewed. "

This song is performed by Vince DiCola. *Bonus Tracks The producers of Transformers The Movie first approached me in the early 1986.They were familiar with some of my prvious film scores and felt my composing style would be effective for their new Transformers animated film.Up until that point,I had very little knowledge of Transformers,other than being vaguely aware of the toy line.I was honored by their enthusiasm for my music and accepted their offer to score the movie. From the beginning,I found this to be a very challenging project.The first surprise was realizing that about 75 minutes worth of music would be required.This amount of music is not particularly uncommon for a full lenght animated film,but was certainly more than I had ever been asked to produce for one movie.Another surprise nearly threw me into a panic mode.I was told that I would be writing most of the music not to picture,as is usually the case,but to ''storyboards'',which is far from the norm.I traded in my initial shock for more of a can-do attitude and told the director and producers,''Oh sure,no problem at all...I can do that!'' Thanks to the help of a great team of people,including fellow producer Ed Frugé,engineer Tony Papa and all the great musicians who played on the soundtrack,I was able to create a score that I continue to be proud of and one that I believe holds <b>...</b>

MORE CHICAGO AUTO SHOW @ INSIDELINE.COM: blogs.edmunds.com Of the many things that the first Transformers movie has done for Chevrolet, perhaps the most predictable is the opportunity for company execs to make really dreadful puns at today's press conference announcing its involvement with the sequel: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Here's a sampling: We don't consider these vehicles movie stars; we think of them as movie cars. Or how about this inevitable one: We're transforming the Chevrolet brand. According to the company, it also increased awareness of the Camaro by 97 percent. Anyway, Chevrolet rolled out all five of the vehicles it has placed in the new movie. We've seen the Camaro-based Bumblebee. We'd seen spy shots of the purple Volt (that's actually a stock Malibu under the skin). We knew about the little Beat -- although we didn't know that it would be painted in a decidedly snowmobile-like scheme. And then there was the Mudflap, played by the small Traxx showcar from a few years back. Nobody cared to even look at that. On center stage was the Corvette styling mock-up concept vehicle. Taking inspiration primarily from the 1963 split-window coupe, the concept is an outlandish-looking bit of kit with quite a number of exhaust pipes. And the company also constructed a 15-foot-tall Bumblebee in full robot mode. Fanboys rejoice!

For those having framerate issues, youtube for some reason widescreened this video without actually changing its aspect ratio. which for some reason, is dropping a few frames every second if the computer is slow. This is a Transformers stop motion scene re-enactment of the autobots teaming up to take out Brawl. Jazz, Ironhide and Ratchet kick ass. Didn't turn out as crisp as I had wanted it but whatever.
