In 1960, Reid's younger brother Don (born June 5, 1945) signed on to take the lead vocal reins, and the quartet performed gospel music under the name the Kingsmen. The film presents a wonderful music of Statler Brothers. This song is also included in the soundtrack of GTA San Andreas (K-Rose). LYRICS She was called a scarlet woman by the people Who would go to church but left me in the street With no parents of my own, I never had a home And an eighteen year old boy has got to eat. She found me outside one Sunday morning Begging money from a man I didn't know She took me in and wiped away my childhood A woman of the streets this lady Rose. This bed of Rose's that I lay on Where I was taught to be a man This bed of Rose's where I'm livin' Is the only kind of life I understand. She was a handsome woman, just thirty-five Who was spoken to in town by very few She managed a late evening business Like most of the town wished they could do. And I learned all the things that a man should know From a woman not approved of I suppose But she died knowing that I really loved her Off life's bramble bush, I picked a rose. This bed of Rose's that I lay on Where I was taught to be a man This bed of Rose's where I'm livin' Is the only kind of life I understand. This bed of Rose's that I lay on Where I was taught to be a man This bed of Rose's where I'm livin' Is the only kind of life I understand

The group was from Staunton, Virginia and was originally comprised of two brothers, Don and Harold Reid, along with Phil Balsley and Lew DeWitt. Early on they called themselves The Kingsmen, that is, until a song called "Louie, Louie" by another group called The Kingsmen hit the charts, and then they decided to call themselves The Statler Brothers although none were named "Statler" (a name borrowed from a brand of tissue paper). Lew DeWitt wrote "Flowers On The Wall" and the song rocketed all the way to #4 on the pop charts in December of 1965. "Flowers On The Wall" received something of a popular revival years later when the recording was used as part of the soundtrack to the film "Pulp Fiction".

The Statler Brothers are an American country music group founded in 1955 in Staunton, Virginia. Originally, performing gospel music at local churches, the group billed themselves as "The Four Stars" and later as "The Kingsmen". In 1963, when the song "Louie, Louie" by the garage rock band also called The Kingsmen became famous, the group elected to bill themselves as The Statler Brothers. Despite the newest name, just two of its four members are brothers, and none of them are named "Statler". The band, in fact, named themselves after a brand of facial tissue (they have joked that they could have turned out to be the Kleenex Brothers. Don Reid sings lead and is the younger brother of Harold Reid, who sings bass. The other members are baritone Phil Balsley and tenor Jimmy Fortune, who replaced original Statler Lew DeWitt in the early 1980s due to the latter's ill health. DeWitt died on August 15, 1990 of heart and kidney disease, complications of Crohn's disease. The band's style is closely linked to its gospel roots. Harold Reid said of the group's style "We took gospel harmonies and put them over in country music". The group remained closely tied to their roots in gospel music, with a majority of their records containing at least one gospel song. They produced several albums containing only gospel music, and recorded a tribute song to the Blackwood Brothers, who influenced their music. Lyrics: Just a picture on a table Just some letters Mama saved And a costume broach from England On the back it has engraved: To Eileen, I love you London, nineteen forty-three. And she never heard from him again And he never heard of me And the war still ain't over for Mama Every night in her dreams she still sees The young face of someone who left her Silver medals and sweet memories In Mama's bedroom closet To this day on her top shelf There's a flag folded three-cornered Layin' all by itself And the sargeant would surely be honored To know how pretty she still is And that after all these lonely years His Eileen's still his And the war still ain't over for Mama Every night in her dreams she still sees The young face of someone who left her Silver medals and sweet memories
