Ron's Slip and Slide Extravaganza (FULL VERSION)
A 60' long waterslide off the roof of my house with a ramp at the end sorry if i haven't answered your message on how it was made. for anyone who's interested in making they're own, here's how i made mine. HOW IT'S MADE the slide is made of 8 strips of ply wood 2' wide by 8' long. Underneath the slide 3 rows of 1" conduit run the length of the slide - this gives the slide elasticity and prevents the wood from cracking. about 80 L-brackets hold the guard rails on which are just strips of paneling. 2 steel cables hold the slide to the house - they're connected to the windowsill and where the back of the slide meets the lower roof. a blue tarp is stapled to the surface and a garden hose tied to the top to supply a constant stream of water. about every 4 ft there is some sort of a support structure - 2 by 4s, the van, the roof, big rocks, etc. the ramp needs extra support, we piled a ton of rocks underneath it. it's also very important that the slide is level all the way down and won't lean to the side if weight is put on it.

Project was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II. With one lens, the L series 16-35mm. 2.8/F All of the video is straight from the camera without any color correction, or any kind of alterations. We shot this at around 4 o clock... I wanted it to have a "warmer" look to it, so I manually adjusted the color balance to 10000 in camera. I shot everything at f/2.8, and the ISO was set at 100. The shutter was adjusted accordingly. I also had a B & W polarize filter for all the shots that weren't filmed in the water. As far as making the shots out of the water so steady, I used a glidecam 4000 HD for all the smooth shots. You can check out the exact model on there official website below where you can also buy them. www.glidecam.com For the shots where the camera was in the water, I used a SPL Underwater housing specifically made for the Canon 5D Mark II. A buddy tried to pull his boat out on low tide without 4 wheel drive. His truck slid backwards just enough that the trailer tires fell off the end of the dock and then he was really stuck. It took a chevy 4x4 to pull him out while two other people lifted the trailer up over the end of the dock. It was a slimey mess and very hard to stand as you will see. Always use four wheel drive when pulling a boat out of the river:)
