Rossington-Collins Band - Don't Misunderstand Me (in HQ w/timed lyrics)

Their biggest hit from the album 'Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere'. The Rossington-Collins Band was an off-shoot of US southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, founded in 1979 by guitarists Allen Collins and Gary Rossington following the tragic 1977 plane crash which killed three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, thus ending that band's career. The Jacksonville band released two albums, but disbanded in 1982 due to increasing instability with guitarist Allen Collins following the death of his wife in 1980. Another contributing factor was the growing relationship between vocalist Dale Krantz and Gary Rossington, who married soon after the band dissolved.

The Rossington Band - Call It Love.wmv

Love Your Man (1988) 1988's Love Your Man picks up where the pop sensibilities of 1986's Returned to the Scene of the Crime left off, and takes Gary Rossington's sound in a totally different direction. Favoring a more hard-edged sound and a return to guitars over the polished chords of overly chorused keyboards, Rossington and wife Dale Krantz still craft their tunes for the pop/rock audience, but nod in acknowledgment of Rossington's roots in Lynyrd Skynyrd. The production sounds dated at this point, but there are still some fine pop nuggets to be found on Love Your Man. The fiery opener "Losing Control" could have given any hard rock diva a run for her money in 1988, and the '50s-influenced "Holdin' My Own" shows off the versatility of the duo's songwriting ability. Unfortunately, the album was largely overshadowed due to the media attention surrounding the reunion of Rossington's mothership group, Lynyrd Skynyrd. A sad notion, as most of the tracks found here are easily on par with anything Skynyrd would record and release during this time period. Tracks 1. Losin' Control 4:00 2. Welcome Me Home 4:44 3. Call It Love 5:02 4. Holdin' My Own 3:19 5. Rock On 5:21 6. Love Your Man 3:53 7. Stay With Me 4:04 8. Nowhere to Run 4:15 9. Say It From the Heart 4:04 10. I Don't Want to Leave You 3:58 11. Vocalist Dale Krantz, a backing singer for .38 Special, joined up with Skynrd guitarists Gary Rossington (she would later become Mrs.Dale Krantz-Rossington), and Allen Collins to form the band, alongside other Skynyrd members, keyboard player Billy Powell and bassist Leon Wilkeson. Drummer Derek Hess and third guitarist Barry Harwood made up the balance of this great band. Rossington Collins Band, were more than a cash-in effort on the Skynyrd sound. With three powerful guitarists and a rhythm section the envy of anyone in rock, a strong singer fronting them, and the combined talents of several good in-house songwriters, they were a solid hard rock outfit with a soulful edge. In 1980 their first LP, Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere, made it to the Top 20 and earned a gold record award with help from the single "Don't Misunderstand Me." The group might have been able to build on that beginning but for events in Allen Collins' life starting late that same year — the loss of his wife was only the beginning of a tragic series of events that ultimately destroyed his career and took his life; it was enough to remove him from most of the creative aspects of the band's music, and he was barely visible as a composer on the group's next album, This Is the Way (which was dedicated to Katy Collins' memory). Rossington Collins Band - Prime Time (live at The Omni, Atlanta 12/31/80)

Just to make it clear - the video and the audio does not belong together. I made the video just now by taking some video and merge it with Prime Time from the New Years Eve show. Hope you like it anyway, even though the video quality is bad... For me Rossington Collins Band is one of the greatest bands to ever have played and made music, and it's a shame they got so little time. Dale Krantz' voice was (is) a killer, and she gave the band a certain personality and style which I love greatly. Prime Time is a very, very, very good song by Rossington Collins Band, and this version played at The Omni was not an exception. This show was broadcast nationwide on the radio, and the setlist for the night was: Prime Time Opportunity Misery Loves Company One Good Man Winners & Losers Getaway Three Times As Bad Don't Misunderstand Me Sometimes You Can Put It Out Freebird A great numbers of songs. I'm not sure, but I guess there are two recordings of the show; one with a better sound quality than the other. But then again; on the one with the lesser quality you can hear much more of the audience, and they were over the top this night. If you can get a hold of one of these recordings - please do it!! It's the best show by them that I've heard, and I have quite a few of them now... Rossington Collins Band is: Dale Krantz (later Dale Krantz-Rossington) - Vocals Gary Rossington - Guitar Allen Collins - Guitar Barry Harwood - Guitar, Vocals Billy Powell - Keyboards Derek Hess - Drums ...

Here is my first video using windows movie maker. I got the hang of it really quick, and I think it will suffice, since it has such a great song in it. This is a great song by the Rossington Band's "Love Your Man" album (all copyrights 1988 MCA Records). There will be more Rossington Band to come on my channel, because I have looked everywhere for a non-downloading/torrent of these songs, and I can only find one of them. Sicne nobody has taken the time to upload somthing, I will, because the world deserves music like this.
