A classical Czech comedy of director Ladislav Smoljak and screenwriter Zdenek Sverak (the author of KOLYA). Dalibor Vrána is a twice divorced bookseller, whose favourite hobby is to seduce beautiful women. Since he must also pay aliments, his living standard isn't too high and when he once visits a meeting of his former schoolmates, he sees the misery of his life. However, once a drunked guest in a restaurant mistakenly regards him as a waiter and Vrána finds a solution of his joyless situation: to dress himself as a waiter and cash money from guests in restaurants. He has big success and money fall, but I don't have to say that it is a dangerous job with a lot of risks... One of the best Czech comedies that has ever been filmed. According to the authors, it was allegedly based on a true story. The movie also got an award of the critique and an award for the best screenplay at a humouristic film festival in France. Prague, world famous city on the Moldau, captivates with its remarkable monuments and unique ambience. There is hardly another Middle European metropolis that possesses so many wonderful architectural and historic treasuries thus Prague's combination of Gothic and Baroque buildings have created a unique harmony that is truly magnificent. The Charles Bridge is, without a doubt, one of the most famous sights in Prague due to Emperor Charles The Fourth who ordered the construction of this marvelous Gothic stone bridge on the river Vlatava. The Old Town Square, with its lavish and elegant houses, has often been the setting for numerous colorful events including coronations, knights' tournaments, political and religious meetings, and even executions and massacres. The proud Tyn Church, 'Church of Our Lady before Tyn', was donated by tradesmen in 1365. The south tower was completed at the beginning of the 16th century and the wonderful design of the sacred Gothic building also applies to its interior. Charles Alley is one of the most beautiful old town lanes in the world, largely due to its beautiful Renaissance houses with their slight hint of Baroque. A mighty, high cupola towers above Kreuzherren Square and the legendary church is an ideal vantage point for many glorious views across the old town. Prague is a city of history with an amazing abundance of old world charm.
