The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert, a high arid plateau that stretches 53 miles or more than 80 kilometers between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. They were created by the Nazca culture between 200 BCE and CE 700. There are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fishes, sharks, llamas and lizards. The Nazca lines cannot be recognized as coherent figures except from the air. Since it is presumed the Nazca people could never have seen their work from this vantage point, there has been much speculation on the builders' abilities and motivations.

In this episode our three a'gringos come to a fork in the road at the base of a large Peruvian mountain. One way says fifteen miles to the next destination--the other says five. Upon asking the locals which way to go, our gringos are encouraged to eat hot peppers and have a traditional meal with the locals... later resulting in gasket-blowing Diarrhea. Not listening to the directions that the locals give them, they take the shorter route, also known as the Peruvian Death Hill # 1. The going is rough, the pavement awful--their life expectancy is grim. Enjoy.

ciudadnazca.net "Nazca City" is a land art project, the drawing of a true scale map of an imaginary city onto the surface of the Peruvian desert. To do this we built a robot which moves autonomously, plowing the ground to uncover its underlying color. Because of its scale, the map can only be appreciated as a whole from certain a height by means of airplains or satellite imaging. The project is inspired by the gigantic figures drawn onto the desert by the ancient Nazca culture (200 BC - 600 AD), which can still be seen today. It invites to reflect upon the explosive urbanization of the deserts of the Peruvian coast, taking place since the middle of the last century, and its consequences on environmental sustainability and the quality of living.

Nazca Lines Workshop - Blacksmithing in Peru
Teaching basic blacksmithing techniques to over 360 Peruvian metalworkers during a three week period in Huancayo, Lima, and Piura, Peru. The project was sponsored by Aceros Arequipa and went into developing basic blacksmithing skills among the local population using inexpensive tools to create the Nazca Lines Hummingbird Book Ends for sale within the tourist industry. Peru is filled with mysticism, sacred sites, ancient history, and an amazing and diverse land masses which cover the entire spectrum of plants, animals, and climates. Most People have heard of the Nazca Lines in Peru - an ancient civilsations mystery as to whom created it. Now we have a new Nazca area - in Australia. In the middle of nowhere - 100's of miles into the dunes - a double dry lake bed - with two waterhole s-- there are 'Nazca Lines' drawn within. I guess there will be needed much research into what this actually is: Is it a natural phenomenon? I doubt it. On one forum, someone porposed it was animal tracks leading to the water. I doubt it. No animals are that ridgid in their behavior. They may follw behind one another on tracks, but after a long dry desert walk - they will spread out once by the waters edge to drink - and Not drink one at a time! Someone else proposed it was due to thermal mass - volcanic surce below it - hence the fan pattern. However this lake does not buldge to create a fan pattern. There is only 4-5ft differentiation over the entire lake. I have baptised it "Austrailia's Nazca Lines." I propose it is the aborigones work.. a sacred site. A celestial type Map, showing their equinoxes and other celestial celeboratory dates. throughout the year. But then again - what do we know about the Nazca Lines in Peru? Nothing about who made the, and why.. Perhaps we need to find some elders in the area that may explain for us. It is RESEARCH TIME! www.artehistoria.com Uno de los grandes misterios de la civilización Nazca, que se desarrolló en la costa sur del área central peruana durante el periodo Clásico, entre el 200 y 600 después de Cristo, son las gigantescas líneas ubicadas en la pampa de Ingenio, entre las poblaciones de Nazca y Palpa. Estudiadas principalmente por la arqueóloga María Reiche, se trata de geoglifos realizados a una escala enorme, fabricados mediante el movimiento de piedras en el desierto para dejar al descubierto el suelo que, no habiendo sufrido erosión ni desgaste durante millones de años, tiene una coloración diferente. Con este sistema, los pobladores de la región diseñaron dibujos perfectamente rectilíneos, con kilómetros de longitud, líneas en zig-zag, espirales y muchas otras formas geométricas. En ocasiones, plasmaron sobre el terreno figuras de animales y vegetales, como pájaros, peces, una araña, un mono, etc. Algunos autores piensan que su uso era calendárico, siendo el fruto de minuciosas observaciones astronómicas, de tal manera que cada una de las figuras animales simbolizaría un signo del zodiaco. Desgraciadamente, la falta de información impide confirmar con seguridad esta hipótesis.

No other video evidence that I know of has ever captured a UFO from a distance of only 20-30 ft. You may not be able to read any writings from the side of this craft, but you sure can see that this is no hole in the clouds. On January 1. 2011 a couple of medical professionals on a trip to Peru, took the first early morning flight on a small Cesna aircraft to view the famous Nazca Lines. This video was taken from the plane window during the viewing of the lines. The weather was absolutely perfect, as it usually is in this part of the desert. From out of no where, the plane was overtaken by a large dark dense set of clouds. The passengers described fear as the captain of the plane asked them to brace themselves against the immenent turbulance. The small craft was soon entirely engulfed by the clouds. The man videoing the Nazca Lines kept the camera rolling as they passed through the clouds. Unknown to the tourist was the disk that passed unsafely close to the plane. He did not notice it until they returned to their room later on in the morning and viewed the tape. He was so shocked at what he had seen that he uploaded segments of the flight and shared them to be viewed by others. At this <b>...</b>
