You'd imagine the LCBO, as one of the largest purchasers of alcohol in the world, could, if it wanted to, use its clout to get lower wholesale prices, thereby reaping greater profits for provincial coffers or passing those savings on to consumers. Under the current system, the LCBO first decides what it wants to charge for a particular new listing. The price has to be low enough to produce solid sales numbers without unduly boozing up the province (it is a control board after all). Next, it references that number against the amount of profit it is prescribed to earn—for example, 65.5 per cent for Ontario table wine—and calculates backwards what it wants to pay the supplier. Mechanicsburg District Judge Mark Martin and his staff temporarily relocated to the Cumberland County Courthouse in Carlisle yesterday after the judge received complaints and threats after his comments in the "Zombie Muhammad" case, The Patriot-News is reporting. The controversy follows an incident at the Mechanicsburg Halloween parade, where a Muslim man at the parade, Talaag Elbayomy, was accused of accosting an atheist activist, Ernest Perce, who dressed as a zombie version of the Prophet Mohammed. The incident was taped and posted on YouTube here and Perce also posted an audio recording of his hearing with Martin. In the audio, Martin appears to tell Perce that he is a Muslim, and that Perce's actions were "very, very, very offensive" to the faith.

A group of over 20 Muslims stormed a debate featuring Muslim writer Irshad Manji in Amsterdam last night, threatening to break Manji's neck as they issued cries of "Allahu Akbar," ("God is great") according to witnesses and Manji's own Twitter feed. Though they reportedly claimed to be part of the group Sharia4Holland, witnesses stated that they spoke with a Flemish (Belgian) accent, and were likely members of Sharia4Belgium, one of a number of groups of Muslim extremists seeking to install sharia law in Europe. Irshad Manji is a practicing Muslim who promotes modernization and reform within the faith. She is the author of several books, including The Trouble With Islam Today. The events took place only two days after Dutch-Moroccan Muslim youth threw stones at a Santa Claus in the Slotervaart section of Amsterdam. Puffing Billy Railway is an ex- Victorian Railways 2 foot 6 inch Narrow Gauge Railway which operates in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges 40km South of Melbourne. 8A is seen departing Menzies Creek for Lakeside past the Inner UP HOME SIGNAL at School Road with a passenger train on Sunday the 1st of May 2011. This same day Puffing Billy held the annual 'Great Train Race' from Belgrave to Lakeside. This video was shot with a Canon 5D MII. Usually it would be a lot more sharp and crisp except I tried a technique by making it look more 'movie' like rather than 'video' like so I altered it it to 24frames instead of 25.
