Perkins (Betty White named him after our founder Marlin Perkins) and Abby's pups were one month old on June 1st. These six pups are members of the rarest mammal in North America...the Mexican gray wolf. There are only 50 in the wild and about 300 in captivity. Now that the pups are spending time outside the den, their older brothers and sister are babysitting. After a month of nonstop care and attention, Mom finally gets a bit of relief. But it's OK with the yearlings ... they love watching out for the pups.
