But he and his best friend, Seth, coped with the tragic situation by finding the humor in it. After he got better, Will decided to write a comedy inspired by what happened, called 50/50. Seth produced the movie and I played the character inspired by Will. I know that even in the darkest times of my life, there have been those unexpected moments, circumstances and stories that just make me laugh my ass off. I want to start a collaboration for those kinds of stories. Contribute your tragic/comic story here. Tell us about something terribly unfortunate in your life, but do it with a sense of humor. You could write your story in text, you could RECord yourself telling the story into your camera or microphone, draw a picture, write a song, whatever's comfortable. Then I'll direct our creative collective of RECorders to adapt some of those stories into short films. You know how we do it. Maybe they'll end up animations. A new line-up couldn't save the band as they broke up a short time later. Enjoy! One of my favorite 70's bands! I saw Eric's solo tour with the Beach Boys exactly 3 months after this album found its way to the cut-out section on the heels of "All By Myself" Eric blew The Beach Boys out of the water!

See the site -- WWW.HITRECORD.ORG It doesn't normally happen that paparazzi photographers pay me any attention when I'm not working. In fact, it only ever happened once (thank god) that I can think of. Luckily I had my video camera on me when it did. A friend and I were just walking down the street in Manhattan when we passed these two photographers who were sitting outside the entrance of some hotel, presumably waiting to photograph somebody who was staying there. I didn't think much of them until, a block or so later, they came running up and started to take my picture. I tried to be nice and politely ask them not to. They were neither nice nor polite. And that's when I remembered I had my camera in my bag. So that's where the movie starts. The only other thing I'll say is (and I had trouble deciding whether or not to be so blunt with my opinion, but here goes) I do believe that the myth of "Celebrity" is not just innocently shallow entertainment, but a powerful and fundamental part of a larger movement revolving around greed, apathy and hierarchy that is currently dragging us down, down, down, lower and scarier, and perhaps weaker than we've ever, ever been. Smile!

But most importantly, I am very proud of all the records that we made, they are all wonderful they make a great evening of short movies. Now, as we always do, let's start remixing all the live records from the show! And let's keep the ball rolling on our RE: INDEPENDENCE collab. Use the discussions from the show and combine it with other work in the collab and let's keep making art regarding independence. I also want to spotlight a couple new Collaborations. JELLY BABIES is a great fucking idea guys! Composers, hop on board and write some music to Day Glo's incredible VO of Metaphorest's text. Illustrators, keep up the good work so animators can come along and start making a short film with your characters. And Screenwriters, let's begin adapting Metaphorest's text into a screenplay. And finally, it's a new year and I feel that this is the first time in a while where we have the breathing room to focus on improving our company. We will be creating THE TINY BOOK OF TINY STORIES, VOLUME 2! Vol. 1 did so well (over 20000 copies sold worldwide and counting) that the good folks at It Books (a subsidiary company of Harper Collins) want to make an even bigger push for Vol. 2. They would like a final draft done by JUNE! == As hitRECord continues to grow and evolve, I am really excited to announce that I'll be empowering certain artists to guide certain collaborations. We'll be calling them "Resident Directors." To start off the Resident Director program I would like to introduce to you a man who needs no introduction at all: the mythical maestro of all things tiny - wirrow! wirrow will be the Resident Director of this big collaboration and he releasing a series of requests over the next few weeks, but in the meantime you (yes, YOU!) can get involved with THE TINY BOOK OF TINY STORIES VOLUME 2 by WRITING, ILLUSTRATING, and EDITING TINY STORIES. We have almost completed it but there are a few more requests to wrap up before we send it out to Iceland for print. == WRITERS: Write a brief statement (1-2 sentences, or a short paragraph) regarding the feminist themes found in LRRH. You can focus your writing on how LRRH relates to feminism, female sexuality, straying from "the path," or being a girl in a male-dominated society. VISUAL ARTISTS: Find a piece of writing regarding LRRH's themes and visually interpret it with an illustration, a photo, or a combination of images. ILLUSTRATORS: We need more drawings of the Mother character. Additionally, we are still looking for some of the scenery from the story. Please illustrate additional backgrounds like Little Red Riding Hood's house and the field of Touch-Me-Not Shrubs. GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: We would like to create a wallpaper page featuring a repeating pattern of LRRH characters that will be on the back pages of the cutout characters. == Thanks Again! J

It's gonna be a kick ass satire taking place on the sugary shores of Jellyland. Now let's bring all of the collaboration's awesome illustrations to life! Musicians, we need your instruments added to megancarnes' score. I love how it's sounding but we need to make it grander with more piano, brass, flutes, and strings! SINGERS / RAPPERS / VOCALISTS: Your contributions to our track with the legendary Dan the Automator are great! But we isolated vocals like this uploaded so we can remix your audio. I really like JackMorrison's "The Links" and I think that layering harmonies over the beat is a great direction to go in. This is gonna sound dope when we print it to vinyl!
