Daniel Nana Aforo, VoicesofAfrica mobile reporter in Accra, Ghana - During one of my routine rounds in Accra, I came across a young boxer training himself without any assistance of a technical brain. Curiously, I approached him for a friendly chat. Through my observation he was training under a dilapidated gymnasium nearby his house. I want to win laurel for Ghana as the great boxers like DKPoison, Azuma Nelson, Ike Bazooka Quatey and the others have done for the country, says Moses, the boxer. He says he has no training kits such as first aid, punching bag, mouth gum, gloves, and canvas. According to him he has the talent but no support from anywhere and appealed to anyone who is interested in boxing to assist him realize e the dreams. Moses who is a night watchman combines his duty with boxing and says he always trains himself because he has no money to be registered at a descent gym. After his training, he sleeps on a wooden slabs and I wonder how a boxer could have a good retentive after the day begins.
