Eventide gives Gearwire the 411 on its firewire-enabled H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer effects processor. There is way too much stuff packed inside the H8000 to cover it all, but try this truncated list on for size: reverb, vibrato, chorus, sample-and-hold filters, FM panning, micro pitch shifting and pitch correction, multi-band compression, phase shifting, ring modulation, stereo and mono loops, tremolo, modulating delay, vocoding, and a partridge in a pear tree (okay, we made up that last one).

Around 2002 I bought an Eventide Harmonizer for $5000. I bought it for its pitch shifting abilities and in this recording you hear arpeggiated notes using a combination of delay and pitch shifters. The Orville has 8 pitch shifters in it =DI sold the Harmonizer and bought a DSLR camera and lenses. This was the only recording of me that I know about using this effect. Maybe one day I'll buy another.

I've been getting a few questions about the repeat function on the Eventide Timefactor, so I thought I'd do a quick demo to show what it does. It's pretty simple, but I think it's one of the best features on the Timefactor for what I want to do. My trusty Boss RV-5 is on throughout, and I turned my MXR Carbon Copy on in the middle. I am running into my Vox AC30 and '65 Fender Twin Reverb. Let me know if you have any questions or are interested in seeing any other demos.

Short piece of music I made the other day. The intro is based around a modified patch on my Eventide H3000 D/SX. The patch in question is the 'crystal echoes' patch. For me, this is the classic H3000 sound and it's been used on tons of recordings. I think The Edge from U2 and Brian Eno use it a lot for a sort of 'shimmer' sound. The guitar solo is a mix of the audio from the two video takes you can see. At some points both guitars can be heard at others, just one. The video roughly follows which guitar is at the forefront of the mix at that particular time. Here's some sounds you can get out of this machine. I just tweaked the factory presets a little bit. 1.tape echo 2.filter pong 3.reverb (multi tap delay) 4.chorus(mod delay) 4.band delay 5.ducked delay This is the best sounding and most versatile delay pedal I've ever played. It slays the Line6 DL4 and the Boss DD-20 easily. If you just want a simple slap-back, than this is not for you. Just get the malekko E600 or mxr carbon copy or something. But if you are a delay freak, like me, give it a try.

The results of an improvised mess-about tweaking all our in-house Eventide Stompboxes, sometimes all at once. The chain is Suhr Guitar into Eventide ModFactor fed into TimeFactor, then into Pitchfactor, then into a Jet City 50 Watt 2 x 12 Combo amp. Guitar is provided by Source's resident shredder Ian Iredale, knob twiddling by Alex. You can hopefully get an idea for the sheer range of ideas, sounds and general all round genius these particular pedals provide. Eventide stompboxes are as much studio effects as they are guitar effects (all are stereo, with selectable Line/Guitar input/output volumes), all sound completely fabulous and are easy to use, but still super super deep. Mic setup is Shure SM57 on the cone going into a UA 610, RØDE NTG1000 on the rear of the cab, RØDE NTG2 to pick up our voices, all fed into a PreSonus FireStudio Mobile for conversion.
