Doobie Brothers - China Grove 1973

Doobie Brothers - China Grove 1974 When the sun comes up on a sleepy little town Down around San Antone And the folks are risin for another day round about their homes The people of the town are strange And theyre proud of where they came Well you're talking 'bout China Grove (Talking 'bout your China Grove) Wo ho ho! (Wo oh!) (China Grove) Well, the preacher and the teacher Lord, theyre a caution They are the talk of the town When the gossip gets to flyin And they aint lyin When the sun goes fallin down They say that the fathers insane And dear Miss Perkins a game We're talking 'bout your China Grove (Talking 'bout your China Grove) Wo ho ho! ( Wo oh! ) (China Grove) But every day there's a new thing comin The ways of an oriental view The sheriff and his buddies With their samurai swords You can even hear the music at night And though it's a part of the Lone Star State People don't seem to care They just keep on looking to the east ((Instrumental) We're talking 'bout your China Grove (Talking 'bout your China Grove) Wo ho ho! (Wo oh!)

Doobie Brothers - Long Train Runnin' (From "Live At The Greek Theatre 1982" DVD & CD)

www.eagle-rock.com Recorded at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California in 1982, this concert was the last date on "Farewell Tour". It was an emotional night and would be the last gig for 5 years. The set contained all their best loved hits and they were joined by founder member Tom Johnston for the last two tracks, with former members John Hartman (also from the original line-up), Tiran Porter and Michael Hossack coming on stage for the celebratory finale of "Listen To The Music". The band are in fantastic form and rise to the occasion magnificently, they can rarely have delivered a better performance throughout their distinguished career. An album called "Farewell Tour" was released by Warners in 1983 but this featured tracks recorded at several different concerts across the tour. This is the first time the audio of their actual final concert has been available. On CD format, four additional tracks from the concert have also been reinstated as bonus tracks. On the DVD format, the Bonus Features offer five tracks from the concert that were cut from the original 1982 film: "Little Darling (I Need You)", "One Step Closer", "Dependin' On You", "Real Love" and "No Stoppin' Us Now" plus interviews with the band members and manager. Doobie Brothers - What a fool believes - 1979

He came from somewhere back in her long ago The sentimental fool dont see Tryin hard to recreate What had yet to be created once in her life She musters a smile For his nostalgic tale Never coming near what he wanted to say Only to realize It never really was She had a place in his life He never made her think twice As he rises to her apology Anybody else would surely know Hes watching her go But what a fool believes he sees No wise man has the power to reason away What seems to be Is always better than nothing And nothing at all keeps sending him... Somewhere back in her long ago Where he can still believe theres a place in her life Someday, somewhere, she will return

Doobie Brothers- Long train running

The Doobie Brothers got their start in the very late '60s, playing their upbeat, melodic, guitar-driven, multipart-harmony rock in the biker bars and hippie joints in Northern and Central California. Signed to Warner Bros. in 1971, the Doobies released the first in an unbroken string of ten Platinum and/or Gold albums through 1981. The band went through several personnel changes, the most notable being cofounder Tom Johnston's exit in 1976 and pop/R&B singer/songwriter Michael McDonald joining to lead them through a more sophisticated and even more successful musical phase. The Doobies split up in 1982 but reunited in '88 with many original members, cut another Gold-certified album, and have been rockin' down the highway worldwide ever since. Long Train Runnin' 1970-2000 is the first and only complete collection of hits, album cuts, and rare tracks from one of the most popular bands in rock history. Produced with the group's cooperation, this 4-CD box set covers all phases of their 30-year career and includes an entire disc of previously unreleased tracks that were recovered from the Warner Bros. tape vault...plus an 80-page booklet featuring a band bio, an interview with Doobies producer Ted Templeman, detailed track notes, and rare photos from the Doobies' archives.

Doobie Brothers : What a Fool Believes

"What a Fool Believes" was written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, and recorded by The Doobie Brothers for their 1978 album Minute by Minute with McDonald singing lead vocals. The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1979, remaining in that position for just one week. However, the song received the 1980 Grammy Awards for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year. ========================== Clip features a love story where boy meets a very sassy girl — and then the girl wreaks all kinds of havoc on the boy's life, in the name of love, of course. ===================== another funky song- this one by Yuming www.youtube.com

Performed by the Doobie Brothers in HD with stunning sound quality. Originally released in the (1972) second album, "Toulouse Street" (which spawned the hits and classic rock staples, "Listen to the Music" and "Jesus Is Just Alright"), and brought the band their breakthrough success. It features one-half of the four original members - Johnston (1970--1977, 1987--present) and ever-present Simmons (1970--present) - plus veteran drummer Hossack (1971--1973, 1987--present) and longtime guitarist McFee (1979--1982, 1987, 1992--present). * Tom Johnston - guitars, keyboards, harmonica, vocals * Patrick Simmons - guitars, banjo, flute, vocals * John McFee - guitars, violin, vocals * Michael Hossack - drums, percussion * Keith Knudsen - drums, percussion, vocals * Skylark - bass, vocals * Guy Allison - keyboards, backing vocals * MB Gordy - drums, percussion * Marc Russo - saxophone Listen to the Music Lyrics: Don't you feel it growin', day by day? The Doobie Brothers - "Another Park, Another Sunday"

What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits is the fourth studio album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released in 1974. Tom Johnston's "Another Park, Another Sunday" was chosen to be the album's first single. "It's about losing a girl," stated Johnston. "I wrote the chords and played it on acoustic, and then Ted [Templeman] had some ideas for it, like running the guitars through Leslie speakers." The song did moderately well on the charts. Doobie Brothers Toulouse Street

I love this Doobie Brothers song although I was hard pressed to interpret the lyrics into video almost resulting in no video. Instead, I chose to use the Storyville era of New Orleans which flourished for 20 years between 1898 and 1917. Patrick Simmons is undoubtedly my favorite song writer for the Doobies. His compositions were essentially deep album cuts or B-Sides to Johnston's (and later, Michael McDonald's) radio-friendly singles. The movie, Pretty Baby starring Brooke Shields (Violet) was made which depicts the Storyville history and I included one "parlor" picture from the movie. At the turn into the 20th century, the undisputed center of good times in the Big Easy was literally carved out of the New Orleans landscape by Alderman Sidney Story. Storyville - as it came to be known, was the citys experimental "red light " district for legalized prostitution. Is this not one of the sweetest songs ever...forever in my heart...love that fiddle...and, what a perfect time show my love for it and thank The Doobie Brothers for all the great years of their dirt floor down home awesome music.
