Jun 20th, 2011: Dassault Aviation, known for the manufacturing of fighter jets such as the Rafale and the Mirage, recently created the Falcon 2000S business jet, which, whilst not being a space rocket, has plenty of sophistication and capability. Rohit Jaggi, the FT's aviation columnist, takes it on a test-flight in order to determine how it will measure up in the hotly contested private jet market.

Dassault Rafale ______ The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engined delta-wing agile multi-role fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. The Rafale was brought in as the replacement for the Mirage 2000-5 that was originally a competitor for the tender, after the production lines for the Mirage closed down, as well as the entry of much more advanced aircraft into the competition. The Rafale has the advantage of being logistically and operationally similar to the Mirage 2000, which the IAF already operates and used with great success during the Kargil War (see Operation Safed Sagar). This would require fewer changes in the existing infrastructure of the IAF, which in turn will reduce cost. Moreover, being 100 per cent French also provided Dassault a distinct edge over its competitors on the issue of technology transfer.Dassault claims that the Rafale has an advantage over many of the competitors because it is not subject to ITAR restrictions. The French government has cleared full technology transfer of the Rafale to India, including that of the RBE2-AA Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar (which will be integrated with the Rafale by 2010 and the transfer of software source codes, which will allow Indian scientists to re-programme a radar or any sensitive equipment if need be.Without the software source codes, the IAF would have to specify mission parameters to foreign manufacturers to enable configuration of their radar, seriously compromising ...

The Dassault Mirage IV is a French jet-propelled supersonic strategic bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. In 1996, Mirage IV strategic bombing was transferred to the Mirage 2000N from Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron. In 2005 remaining Mirage IV reconnaissance aircraft were retired and reconnaissance mission were transferred Mirage F1CR squadrons.

The Dassault Mirage G was a French design for a fast swing-wing multirole jet fighter aircraft, capable of both interception and ground attack with a nuclear missile. A single-engine prototype testing variable-geometry techniques, the basic Mirage G was developed into a twin-engine, two-seat fighter, the Mirage G4. However, as the project continued the requirements were constantly changing, and the French military requested the design be converted into a dedicated interceptor. The single-seat Mirage G8 was an attempt to shed some of the weight and costs associated with swing-wing designs. As development proceeded, costs continued to rise, and mission demands changed, causing the eventual cancellation of the project in the mid-1970s.

The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engined delta-wing multi-role 4.5th-generation jet fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Introduced in 2000, the Rafale is being produced both for land-based use with the French Air Force and for carrier-based operations with the French Navy. It has also been marketed for export to several countries but has not yet received orders. Specialnu zahvalnost You tube kanalu merimeri7....i mom drugu sa foruma BSD-u....

I claim no rights to the content featured in this presentation. Dassault Rafale is a twin engine delta-wing fighter aircraft designed for the French Air Force and Navy. Introduced in 2000, the Rafale was reported to trump it's predecessors in all areas. The Rafale is equipt with an integrated electronic survival system named "SPECTRA", which features a software based stealth technology. The RBE-2 is the Rafales eyes. It is a multi-mode passive radar in the arena of AESA platforms. Its developers have stated that the RBE-2 combined with the Rafale's abilty to communicate in real-time with both ground command and friendly aircraft give the aircraft and its pilots an unhead of level of situational awareness in combat. Rafale's systems enable it to detect and track multiple air targets for close combat and long-range interception, as well as 3D mapping for terrain follwing and navigation. SPECTRA is said to provide a very high and impressive survivability rating against both air and ground threats. Rafale also uses an electro optical/laser designation pod. This allows the Rafale to use stand-off weapons. The Pilot is assisted in his cockpit by a Heads-Up Display (HUD), as well as 2 flat screen displays which are touch screens enabling the pilot to quikly input new data or select weapons and systems. His gloves are lined with silk allowing his to easily access his aircraft system through his screens, even in a hostile situation. Rafale-M - NAVY This is the carrier based ...

Both the F1CZ and F1AZ variants of the SAAF saw action during operations in the Border War. F1CZs of 3 Squadron downed two Angolan MiG-21s in 1981 and 1982. On 6th November 1981, during Operation Daisy, two F1CZs were vectored by GCI to intercept two MiG-21s heading south. Major Johan Rankin shot down the wingman using cannons. On 5th October 1982, while escorting a Canberra of 12 Squadron on a photo-reconnaissance sortie, Major Rankin and his wingman engaged two MiG-21s on an intercept course. He fired two Magic AAMs at one of the MiGs, damaging the aircraft with the second missile. The MiG was able to recover back to base but sustained additional damage in a belly landing. Rankin then attacked the second MiG and destroyed it with cannon fire.[6] Two F1AZs of 1 Squadron were lost over Angola. On 20th February 1988, while flying an interdiction sortie against a road convoy during Operation Hooper, Major Ed Every was shot down by a SA-13 Gopher SAM. Almost a month later, on 19th February, Captain Willie van Coppenhagen flew into the ground when returning from a diversionary strike at night. The Board of Inquiry was unable to determine the causes of the crash.
