the kilimanjaro darkjazz ensemble - embers

[Should've been upped long ago....] When they told me you were leaving, I began to feel sick inside. Because I never, never got to tell you, What I'm feeling inside my mind. In my nightmares caused by anguish. I can see you run away. In the daylight, I am hunting. Only to lose your last trace. I still feel your presence always, And I've fallen over the line. I am hurting as I wonder, What it would be like if you were mine. If you were mine... If you were mine.

Recorded live the 3rd of December 2009 at Kino Šiška. Ljubljana, Slovenia. During the TKDE 2009 Tour.

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, song Patra, Saint Vitus cover A short biography of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble: The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble was formed in 2000 as a project to compose new music for existing silent movies. Jason Köhnen (aka Bong-Ra) and Gideon Kiers (curator of the Sonic Acts Festival and member of Telcosystems), both graduates of the Utrecht School of Arts, combined their audio and visual skills to reinterpret classic movies by FW Murnau (Nosferatu) and F. Langs (Metropolis). In 2004 UK trombonist Hilary Jeffery and Swiss cellist Nina Hitz joined TKDE to record the self-titled debut album which was released on Planet Mu in May 2006. The ensuing tour saw Eelco Bosman and Paris based vocalist Charlotte Cegarra join, turning the Ensemble into a sextet. Chrome Hoof violinist Sarah Anderson joined in 2008 to supply the group with extra power on stage. The Netherlands has been TKDEs homebase since 2007, while members have moved closer to each other to make composing and producing easier. Apart from the mothership which is TKDE, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is a live improv jazz/drone/doom sideproject consisting of TKDE members and a host of interchanging guest musicians. The live recording of the Doomjazz Future Corpses! session was released on Ad Noiseam in 2007. The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble's second full length album will be released on Ad Noiseam in 2009. Inspired to put up another video with the hope that Neil Braidwood will come good with the Freeze suporting Duran Duran tapes from the Odeon 1981. Thanks for the pics Neil, look forward to hearing the tapes Finally got my act together and found these pics I was banging on about, plus scanned them. They might be a bit dark, but there pretty cool. I saved them small for web, but I have them quite hi-res if you want better versions. There was one of you and me David, but I can't find them. Seems Gordon and Mike were more photogenic! One is obviously the Nite Club, but I can't remember where the other two were shot. The look on my face is priceless! Photographer was a girl I knew called Collette, but can't remember her last name. Found the cassettes too. Live at the Odeon and also live at Maestros (Glasgow), think I have some other ones too, but they might double up on what you have already. About to embark on the digitisation of these cassettes -- and I'm a novice, here, but I'll manage. Watch this space! Chat soon. Neil
