This shows how simple it is to make a filter. The water is pumped from the pond and drops into a homemade hydroponic container with adjustable 1/2 PVC pipe to adjust the height of the water before it exits the container. This allows the solids to settle to the bottom and the cleaner water gets siphoned off to be repeated with the next filter. Each filter can be used to grow plants they are empty to show water flow. Notice the aeration in the water plants and fish both love it.

Bigger siphon installation and components is similar just the size is bigger. This video also, show and explain the flared funnel stand pipe siphon, its installation is identical to this. A 25mm siphon will be very similar to this installation. If you use 32 reducer or flared the 25mm stand pipes the same 50mm bell and 82mm Strainer can be use.

Since the last video, we have moved the grow system to a new location, in front of the window. By doing this we get free and natural heat and light on sunny days. We have also gone ahead and added 5 Pond goldfish (Sarasa type), aquarium gravel for a bacteria culture, and a automatic fish feeder. Lastly, we have added a bell siphon. This automatically raises and lowers the water level via a siphon. If you would like a video explaining/how to of this device, leave a comment below.
