Rectangular three-layer black/white/black plastic cover with "Custom Made" engraved in white over the original 'stud-holes'. The cherry red color is rich and vibrant and shows none of the usual fading that one would expect after forty-seven years. Being aware of the scales for each chord (which we covered in the last lesson) makes it easier to identify - just a hair in advance - which notes will be good to land on in the next chord. It's kind of like reading music on the page: you're playing one measure but always reading ahead by a bar or two so that you know what's coming. That's especially true when you're improvising with triads -- every new chord provides a new set of three notes to ride on! Lines built solely around triads can sound especially dry and boring if you don't inject personality and a compelling rhythmic feel to them. Once you get comfortable with the voicings and fingerings of various triads, start working on dynamics and phrasing. In the video and notation, I show just a few of the rhythmic variations possible. Your first challenge, though, is to start seeing and hearing triads up and down the neck. The more familiar you are with these shapes, the better you'll be able to grab them without thinking too much. Here I'm showing triads alternating between F and Eb, ascending in pitch. Work them from the bottom up, from the top down, and all around. Then find another pair - like Cm and F, or Bm and E - and figure out where they are all over the neck. It sounds like a lot of work, but if you know your chords, you'll quickly start recognizing triads from inside those familiar shapes.

Because it's a great match for a raised-9 chord. Check the notation to get acquainted with the scale if you don't know it already. It's easier to memorize than most scales because it's built on a steady pattern of 1/2 step, whole step, 1/2 step, whole step. Get the diminished scale into your "ears" before worrying about how to get it under your fingers. One very effective way to do that (with any scale, really) is to take just a few notes at a time. Choose a small subset of the diminished scale and improvise over the raised-9 chord. The diminished scale also works beautifully with a blues scale. One way to bring them together is to start a line in the blues scale, and then bring in notes from the diminished. Listen to how those "diminished" notes break the boundaries of the blues sound resulting in very interesting lines for the listener.

"'Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo' is a situational comedy that arises from a small lie that the protagonist, Apoorva, had to tell his employer Dhirubhai Jhaveri to get a job. Dhirubhai is a very successful businessman who hates lies and liars, and believes in family bonding and values. His belief in these values at times cross levels of normalcy & are unbelievably rigid. Apoorva, an orphan was raised in an orphanage and to get the job in Dhirubhai's company, lies that he as a full-fledged family back in India. Apoorva's description of his imaginary family makes Dhirubhai fall in love with each and every member. Dhirubhai has a niece Aarti, who is young, beautiful and believes in the same values as her uncle. They both trust Apoorva blindly, and Apoorva has earned this trust and respect on the basis of his hard work. Over time he has become the Man Friday for Dhirubhai as well as Aarti. Apoorva has also developed a liking for Aarti, but has refrained from expressing his feelings to her. This is my "new" 2005 Gibson ES 335 in cherry red!!!! Man I never thought I should own one of these.. Especially because they are so damn expensive.. But this one, believe it or not, I got almost for free.. Yeah man, that's right.. I traded it with my Rickenbacker 330.. A guy in London wanted to sell this guitar on Ebay or he wanted a Rickenbacker 330 instead, so I contacted him and we traded.. So I only paid for the postal service from Denmark to the UK for this beautiful guitar.. Bless you Scott and hope you are very happy with the Rickenbacker, cause this baby is AMAZING!!!
